Enduro GR- break her down for parts.......

Re: Dirty GR- seat is done.

Love it Rich! Nice job on the seat too!

That is gonna be a hoot and a half ;D

Re: Dirty GR- seat is done.

Rich,

Bikes looking great. Talked to Von, seems you guys both need some registration love. lets put together a package deal.

Re: Dirty GR- seat is done.

I'm all for it Scott. I kept forgetting this bike wasn't street legal and kept adding stuff to it like it was.......

Speaking of which, I have a rear tire on it's way. By the end of the week I should have a rear wheel laced, tire mounted, carbs mounted, etc. Just in time for winter!

Re: Dirty GR- seat is done.

Yeah......I would but.....um......the Suzuki charging system can't handle that much draw. ;D

And my wife would make me sell the new truck if I wasn't using it all winter!

Two very valid and good points made here. ;D

Re: Dirty GR- seat is done.

Hahahahaha there are solutions to both those problems... the charging system being the easiest of course ;)

Re: Dirty GR- seat is done.

Back to business. I officially parked the "cafe" for the season and started robbing parts from it. Nothing that isn't being replaced/updated anyway. After mounting up the carbs, throttle cable, and putting gas in it, it roared to life! I couldn't resist ripping it through the yard (sorry about the sideways pics):

And the destruction to my yard. Notice the clumps that got tossed around:

Even with those massive knobs on the rear tire, it loses ALL traction with just a twist of the wrist!

Re: Dirty GR- seat is done.

Wooohooo!!!! Bet that felt great Rich, gettin' her out on the grass for a blast ;D

Re: Dirty GR- seat is done.

Oh man, I would ride that bike all over my neighborhood, it is so much fun. Problem is, the open headers draw a little TOO much attention if you know what I mean.

When I bought this bike, it was literally a frame and a bunch of parts. It's nice to feel that collection of bolts ripping up the lawn!

Hahhahaha loud pipes save lives right? Haha

Yeah I'm lookin' forward to that feeling myself... although I used to ride mine, took it apart, now almost ten years later I'm gonna be ridin' her again... yeah baby, I get ya loud and clear on that nice feelin' ;D

Re: Enduro GR- the 650cc weed whacker

Got that rat bastard Kenda mounted up (well worth the $10). The exhaust is just temporary.......

And a profile shot - it's raining out and the bike is filthy. Sorry fellas.

Re: Enduro GR- the 650cc weed whacker

Hey, it's the dirty GR, suites it. Now I am paranoid the 30 bucks I spent on tire irons and lube was a waste and I will still end up going to a shop to get the GL tires mounted. I hope the Shinikos won;t be such a bitch as you described!

My Shinko 005 Advanced tires were a pain.We used one of those Harbor Freight tire changers with the motorcycle tire changing attachments.I worked but we kept the tires under a plastic bin with a heat gun blowing into it.The tire were nearly to hot to touch. We used dish soap as I mentioned earlier.Took two of us to force the tire on.I believe using spoons would have been easier.

Have a read through this website. It documents tire changing in every detail with tips and hints. http://www.clarity.net/~adam/tire-changing.html

Naaaaa.... I've paid to mount 2 tires in my life. You'll use them. Even if it's just "most of the time". haha
