Oh well, I have to go eat a home grown hamburger.

I always say I am going to plant a hamburger tree every year, but I am having trouble finding seeds that are not toasted?

;D

That was not even a good joke!
To me, the farmer bob way is the backbone to built not bought!

You know what's funny...I thought about a hamburger plant when I read that after posting and it made me chuckle....what is wrong with us Brandon!?

I wholeheartedly agree. it isn't art if it isn't complicated. If there is no problem to be overcome without a calculated answer, then there is no end product in my opinion.

Did I say there was a problem with Farmer Bobs way of business? No. Ive spent a month of days after work till 9 at night working on my truck box sitting 8" off the ground on cinder blocks. Ive changed a starter lying on the ground with cold rain pouring down my arm. Fack, Ive even woken up from parties only to go help water cows hung over the next morning. :p

Heaven forbid I try to edjamikate yall about a scientific way of doing business. Spring rates and shocks anyone?

Its 5052 sheet. Bought it to make a floor pan out of and then ditched the project. I think it would be perfect.

5052 is probably going to prove pretty nasty to work with, great for bending and welding, but not so much for a lot of forming/annealing, try some 3003

It's a solid bet you do more forming that I do so, I just looked at my 'Farmer Bob's Big Book of Metal'........

I always wanted to have the skill to shape aluminum. Regretfully all I can do is put dents in aluminum. I really don't like the current style of "pointy" fairings on the Jap bikes. This is a '56 NSU sportsmax racer belonging to a friend in Ireland. And my Norton with the fairing I have always loved. The Peel Mountain Mile. Not sure why but it is my alltime favorite.

The 60s gave you a good choice.

Hoof, that Norton fairing is beautiful!

Its a 60 odd year old design but I love that shape! Bret from Glass from the Past borrowed it and took a mould from it. If you want one he should be able to supply one.

Got one for ya, I'm trying to get more info on this fairing:

DSCF1628.jpg

having trouble finding a fairing with a nice low windscreen like that. Any ideas?

bob.

My friend Bill Dudley Jr. and fellow Fossil Rider has one on his CB550. Bill III got one on his BMW R69 EU, I'll try to locate a pic of that one.

There have been a few fairings made in hand beaten aluminum over teh years and a couple of people will make you one - for a price. Honda works bikes abck in the sixties all had hand beaten aluminum fairings at least the early ones were.

If you want a light fairing, choose on from Airtech or Glass from the PAst etc and ask them to make it form carbon fiber. It will be much lighter than aluminum. CF sheets are not too expensive now. I just made a seat pan out of it. I had to start with something hidden because you know it was going to turn out ugly, but we all have to start somewhere.
