fork swap issue

Been Around the Block
I've got a '77 XS360 and just finished doing a fork swap from a 2002 Suzuki SV650 (thanks to some all balls conversion bearings) and i've run into an issue.
Everything fits great except now I've run into the issue of the axle diameter being too big. The axle on the SV forks is 17mm and the inside diameter of my
brand new all balls wheel bearings is 15mm. I can't see any resolution to this issue other than new wheel bearings that are identical to mine now but with
an inside diameter of 17mm but how do i go about finding those?

I will say that i do plan on changing my front drum wheel out for a wheel that I can run dual disc brakes on since i've got the SV calipers sitting around. This
probably won't happen for a while and I'll have to find an 18" wheel with the exact dimensions that takes a bigger axle diameter and disc brakes.

Does anyone know the dimensions of an XS650 wheel bearing? I know it runs a 17mm axle. If someone could take some measurements with a caliper, I'd
really appreciate it. I can do the same with my wheel bearings. Thanks

Look here to find the bearing number:

Then here to find the dimensions:

If you're lucky, you'll find a bearing with the right ID and OD that you're after, otherwise you may need to use your old axle and sleeve it out to 17mm.

thanks, i checked my bearings with my digital caliper and they are 15x42x13(ID x OD x Width).
So....I think i need bearings in the size of 17x42x13 but they aren't listed on that site.
Guess I'll keep my search going for this hard to find bearing. Thanks for the help hillsy

well i found a suzuki part number of 09262-17034 that appears to be that size. Apparently its a very hard bearing to find.
Ordered two...we'll see if they're right when i get them. Thanks again for the help.

Machine shop and a lathe? lol.

I ran into issues with axle length too when I switched from cb 350 to 550 forks. The difference was the drum brakes and needed extra length for the speedo gear. Just got an axle from a cb 360 and presto. Probably different for you but maybe will give you an idea.
