Re: Ascot Tracker

That looks damn close to one of my Goldwing's carbs... #3 to be exact.
FYI, you can clean the vacuum piston / slide, the inside of the cap, and the carb bore with wadded aluminum foil and not worry about harming it.

Re: Ascot Tracker

Big airboxes are the way to go. Of course they look uninspiring, but they help performance - especially with big cylinders. I would leave it on and forget trying to jet that carb with a pod on it.

Re: Ascot Tracker

ahhhhh i most likely will. i have a feeling once i pick that cb750 i wont do anything but ride this ascot

Re: Ascot Tracker

Nothing has really been done lately but the oils changed, all i need to start it now is a battery (after christmas).

I have some ideas for the tail so i messed around in paint to see if it would look good. I think it looks real good! nice and clean. I plan on putting an LED tail light right under the tail. Not sure where to put the license plate just yet. (for reference look on the first page, its the same picture).

Re: Ascot Tracker

seems like a pretty nifty ride. the only thing i want to know, is who the hell decided to give the think a name as lame as ascot? no wonder it was only sold for a couple of years!

Re: Ascot Tracker

Worked on the tail a little bit. I hated how that huge brake light stuck out so far. I did some plastic magic and recessed it in a bit. I think I will cut a lot more plastic under the tail still but this is about the look i was going for.

you can see in this profile picture; i will cut the black plastic a little more so the lines work together.

Next up is the front fender. I am thinking a "street fighter" style. Sort of like the late 90s ducatis.

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

Got a little more work done last night. Took the exhaust off, some of the bolts were finger tight! I am going to paint the collars red and wrap the header. Prob get the "F1" off the muffler and polish it a little bit.

Still have some work to do on the tail and I am also chopping up the stock fender, gave up on the ducati fender, its too fat.

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

Wrapped the exhaust, first time doin that. It turned out ok i think. Didnt paint the collars, still might. Definitely cleaning that engine soon!

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

Hi,
Glad I found this thread. My father in law has given me one (as soon as I get it from FL to NY) and I've been thinking what to do with it. Im thinking about stripping all the fairing off....

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

yours has a fairing? Or are you talking about the body plastics?

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

Thats what I meant. I really wanna take EVERYTHING off

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

The tank doesnt really have the lines for that but it can be done. you have to be creative with the rear of the frame too, easily weld a hoop on though.

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

I need some recommendations on handle bars. I want some wider and taller bars. Nothing crazy.

Re: Ascot STREET Tracker

Thats what I was thinking. Probably have to find another tank too. I have not seen one stripped back so couldn't say but looking forward to it nonetheless
