I have two radial, and one conventional brembo. the radial's do feel "softer" at the lever, but I feel they work better. The radial on my ducati is like squeezing a plush toy, but it relates directly to the input at the disc. I have only over braked on one occasion, and that was on a surprise wet spot. The conventional is now on the fizzer, and it's twitchy, more like a light switch. with the soft front ends of fzr's, that's not always a good thing.
I think you would be fine with either, but get the radial if you can, some steel lines and copper pads and you will have more brake than that bike will ever need.
The blue is anodized, and if I recall, they do sell different colors on the aftermarket. I have never seen them look bad though, on any color scheme.
