Ground Resistance

Re: Ground Resistance: Biohazard!

Daniel, is the bike running yet? Because if it's not, you know, I can grab the guys and come make that happen.

Yes, that is a threat...I think.

Re: Ground Resistance: Biohazard!

i kinda need a reason to come on down to texas and see this in person. I've travelled west 2 years running maybe a little south-west action would be the cure.
Haven't seen much posting from you brother and this build helps to keep the blood flowing.

Re: Ground Resistance: Biohazard!

Not running yet. The past couple of weeks I have been sick due to this bipolar weather. As soon as my sinuses settle the weather changes and I'm sick all over again. Two days ago it was 70* today was 40*. By Tuesday it will be back up to 60.

I do have some progress photos of the electrics I need to upload, but my net time has been sporadic at best.

I really like the gear spike. I don't know about the head 'thing' though.

As far as the progress, when I do get in the garage just when I get started I run into some little tidbit that I need, but don't have. Then i have to acquire it, then try to go back to work. Stop to drop the youngest off at school. Come back home to start again, stop to pick kids up. Start again, stop for homework. Start again, stop for dinner. Then prep for bedtime... Sheesh. It is hard enough to get started the first time. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't wiring, or if I was better at it. Once my train of thought gets thrown off track it is a bitch to get back on it. I'm still in good shape for the deadline, just have to stick with it.

Keep the faith guys, would you still love me if I trenched up those pics?

Re: Ground Resistance: Biohazard!

The electrical panels "industrial look" (for lack of a better word) fits your bike so well. Wish I could see your bike in peson some day so I could take in all the details...

Re: Ground Resistance: Biohazard!

Thanks Tweak. Once I finish the last of the wiring, the plan is to cover the wires coming from the panel with braided tubing, followed by the standard 'treatment'.

Update F00!!!1!1!

How did you wire the fuse box. I have one just like it and it makes no sense. I really wanted to see this thing finished. It was saved in my favorites as one awesome build and would hate to see it go to waste.

After a long break I have only just started back to work on this thing.

The fuse box is a pretty simple affair. You just tie your positive in on the terminal at the right and each circuit exits at the corresponding tab. I wanted two separate leads, one switched through the ignition switch and one constant, so I took the cover of and cut the internal plate that fed the fuses. That isolated the first two connections on the left. I had to run a small bolt through the back of the panel that feeds directly from the positive on the battery.

A much simpler alternative would be an inline fuse for the constant connections, but that would have been way to elegant a solution.

Hey "CS", you're doin' much better than me when I had young ones. My ride went in the shed for 22 years and never saw the light of day until they were all finished school, married and outta here. :'(

Steady on! Keep pluggin'! Every little bit helps! 8)
