gt750.....

No updates for a while and the bike was starting to look very clean.

Any news?

SLOWWWWW....... we built a shop this summer, I built a different bike and the GT has been on the back burner.....I have a tail section made that will work for now and a decent tank. The frame spent most of the summer in the sand blasting cabinet.... to help prevent it from rusting... the frame is mostly done, de-tabbed, gussets put in, the rear of the frame was re-worked for the tail section. Im hoping to get more experience with fiberglass and mold making so i can make the tank i want. This winter We need to get it finished, the motor ran good so hopefully apart from putting everything back together i think its possible...

Both trip and I have hit hard times the last couple years and this project was put on the back burner. Trips artistic talents drew him in another direction but he still wants to do this project, hence the reason he has not sold it yet. So it has been sitting on the shelf ever so patiently awaiting parts and funding, but every now and then it would get thrown on the table and fiddled with.

I have been pissing around with a few things this summer since I have started to get more time to myself this year (next summer I will have less time). I started trying my hand at forming aluminium (found out I’m not a natural, but adequate). I like working with metal better than fibreglass and resin (the fibreglass and resin is just messy).

This oil tank / Battery box was a perfect first project.

The tank will be supported by those rubber grommets and 1/8 thick tabs 6 total.

Did a little work on the fuel tank strap this week. I only get an hour to myself after work, so progress is slow.

Its getting there? :-\

I plan on making a few here and theres by the end of the week er two weeks. Lets see what kind time my work will permit me to have to myself.

Did some seat work. Used fiberglass for the pan, and closed cell Neoprene for the pad.
