hey bro... saw that you had the ac 2in1 with the center stand. I didnt see that arm they give you on there... how are you stopping the center stand from rubbing the tire?

I have no clearance issues at all. The Mac 2-1 works great with the center stand and the stand doesn't come close to rubbing on the tire. Not really sure how the stand could rub the tire?
well the 2-2 obviously had a little stopper on the left side muffler that would keep the center stand in the right play. When I offed the left side, my center doesn't stay down far enough. I tried to use the longer mount to make it stay down but it doesnt work too well.
sick bike dude... what size do u use for your front and rear tyre for your half sack bike hehehe can u show more picture details of your bike...great bike for our reference.... thanks

B.E.A.UTIFUL! Your build has been a great inspiration. Im building a 81' with a 82' 450 motor. Starting out a little father behind than you with some damage to the tank and missing lights (that I would have replaced anyways). How do you find that MAC exhaust? Is it loud without the baffle? Ive looked at it a couple of times wondering if its really worth the $350 bones or if I should just tig up a full stainless set for mine. 1 5/8" bends and straights are pretty cheap and I can roll the cone up on the slip rolls at work. Your "half sac" looks like the full oz of the sticky green to me!
very nice build. i have 2 identical '78 cb400TII's that i am starting on. i am wondering if there is a different tank option that will fit that is slightly longer, with the knee recesses? also, what other seat options will fit the cb400? is it essentially the same as what will fit the cb750?
hey dude im new to the site and i have a 79 hawk, if you can help me itd be great. whered you get the master cylinder? way better look than the original.
One more question! Did your bike have a tach when you got it? My 78 CB400 doesn't have one and I'm not sure if it will be easy to add one, I'm thinking of a single Tach setup with a very small speedo hidden somewhere
Sorry I missed the revival of this thread. I will try to answer all the questions I can. I had no problem fitting my rearsets with the Mac 4-1 exhaust system and yes, I used the passenger peg location for the rearsets that I got from www.fastfromthepast.com. Then I made up my own linkage with round bar.
Carb tuning for the K&N Pod filters (this is what worked for me)
Completely rebuilt the carbs
Main = 128
Secondary = 78
I raised the needle jets a little with 2 small washers on each needle.
Not sure what different gastank would be a direct bolt on but you can make just about any tank fit with some minor modifications. My 400 did have a tach when I got it but I switched out to a digital speedo/tach to clean up the front end.
