Hard time finding 90/90 18 front and matching rear for CB350 - suggestions?

Hey gents,

I've been searching for an affordable, well-rated pair of tires for the 1973 CB350 we've restored. The current shoes are dried our from sitting in a barn for 20 years. From what I can tell - the stock rubber is 90/90 18 (front) and 100/90 18 (rear).

I'm finding good fronts, and good rears... but no brand+style that offers BOTH in respective stock sizes.

With no pairing readily available - is it alright to run differing style tires up front and in the back? It seems to be our only option.

For example, the Shinko 712s come well-recommended and have a rear that matches the factory tire size, but not a front factory match. Could I run for instance, a Kenda 671 up front with it?

Ready to click "order" as soon as someone with experience gives me the thumbs up. Cheers 8)

Thanks!

You can get the Avon AM26 Roadrider in both of these sizes. Not the cheapest tire out there but from what I hear they are quite good. I'm considering them for my CB350.

Avons are a great tire. I ran them on my CM450 and loved them, look for sales I got 2 for $150 total in a end of season sale at a local dealer.

Thanks guys, those are a bit out of my price range as I can't get a steal on them right now, but will keep searching.

As to the running different tires Q - is that alright? Any adverse effects?

Would love to go with the 712s but the issue I'm facing is they don't offer them in 90/90 18 (which from what I'm researching is the stock size).

I'd go with a 100/90 18 in the front, but wouldn't that rub?

Haha, yeah - we shortened the fender but kept it due to the bike being used as a semi-daily commuter :) Definitely don't want to rub or have the chance of that happening.

I run a 100/90 on my RD and the only thing I had to do was stretch the fork brace in the fender a hair. No rubbing now

A 100 will fit on your front end.
Tons and tons of people run 100 in the front and 110 in the back with no issues
