Hi all,
At the point on the build of my '71 CB350 that it's time to rebuild the engine, which is stuck. Here's my dilemma, I was hoping to free the pistons with a rubber mallet or dead blow(just enough to get them to budge/break free) once the head was off, but I can't get the head off unless I rotate the engine. So... in short, I need to unstick the engine to remove the timing chain to remove the head so I can unstick the engine.
Confused? Me too!
So far I have had PB blaster in the cylinders for about 6 weeks, then tried to use a wrench on the generator rotor to rotate the engine, but no luck.
Can the cam shaft be removed with the timing chain intact? I don't see how this is possible but maybe I'm missing something. ???
Other option is to cut the chain and replace it, but finding one is proving to be tough!
Any help or ideas?
Thanks,
Tim
