Honda CB/CL 450 rear axle removal help needed

Been Around the Block
So I've removed the support rod, rear brake adjuster nut and the cotter pin and axle nut, and jacked up the rear so the tire's just off the ground, but now what? The Clymer manual just says 'remove the axle' or 'pull out the axle' or something like that, but it doesn't seem quite that simple.

Is there a trick? Use a puller? Anything?

Thanks in advance for any advice you all can give me!

Nope, no trick.
Seriously just pull it out. There's a joke in there I'm sure. Sometimes you have to take the weight off the shaft for it to come out. Just lift the tire and lightly tap it with piece of wood. Sound stupid but the piece of wood won't damage the threads. Use the handle of your hammer. It is that easy.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know! Just didn't want to learn another lesson the hard way this time.

Thanks again, much appreciated!
