+1

It's the ever present battle of opinion on this issue. I personally am not going to invest money into something unless it's exactly what I want. I won't compromise. And me personally, if it's not modified beyond recognition, then it's not me!

If all that's holding you back from going all of the way is the fact that it may be worth something more to someone else down the road, then you're not building it for yourself, you're already viewing it as a stepping stone project. Personally, the bikes that do it for me are the fringe bikes that live somewhere outside of the reality of what they are.

But brother, I'm just stoked that you have a bob project to begin with. Awesome!

Very cool indeed Mike. Hell you could do a whole 70s vibe with that thing and not have to do much but change the seat paint and bars. Not where Id go, but could be cool. Its yours now man. Do with it what you will. A rare Honda Rebel is still just a Rebel. Great bike, but its not like youd be cutting up a Ariel, (real) Indian, Vincent or something. Id go nuts on it man. Have fun while ya can! , you only live once brother.

Cut it, bend it, weld it, swap parts, paint it........

Do it like you want it!

Von hit it on the head, no matter what, it is still a rebel!

I would not even hesitate about cutting on it! Until you make it un-recognizable as a rebel, then you still have a rebel, and they are EVERYWHERE!
