Hydro-blasting

Normally I keep all of my progress on my blog, but I'm so amazed with these results I had to share. I had my barrel and head Hydroblasted by Greg at Woodys in Sandringham, and I'm stunned.

They look awesome! Is this the same process that I've heard called vapour blasting?

Hydro blasting and vapour blasting are two different processes.

Hydro uses water and vapour uses dry ice. I am going to assume the OP meant Vapour as hydro would not get it that clean or destroy the metal.

Similar processes, but not the same. This hydro-blasting is done as a 3-part spray of water, air and silicon spheres. Amazing stuff.

I suspect the naming changes by location too, I jsut had some hubs "vapour blasted" using the technique you guys call hyrdoblasting. :)

Vapor/Vapour Blasting in North America at least typically refers to glass bead blasting with the aid of water, and of course compressed air.

Dry Ice Blasting is just that - Dry Ice Blasting. Interestingly widely available in Canada, but typically used on a much larger scale than blasting parts. It's used to clean industrial equipment, remove mold from attics etc. Ideal as no blasting media is left behind - not even baking soda can match the disappearing act dry ice has up its sleeve.
