I want to build my own exh. w/ 1.5" tubing;who sells mandrel elbows?

I've got this little 81' CB125S that I'm installing an XR200 engine into and want to stay w/ the low/bottom 'CB' street exhaust.I had a muffler place build me a head-pipe w/ 1.5" pipe and they used a hydraulic tube bender that is common to pipe bending automotive exh. which did bend the tubes in quite a bit..
I want to find a company that sells 1.5" mandrel bent elbows of different bends such as 90 & 45 degree & I want them to have female-female openings so I can attach 2 pipes together, you get the idea.
I want to build my own 'high flow' exhaust head-pipe using elbows like that. any ideas??

I've used the tcbros builder kit meant for xs650's before with great results. It's meant for a twin so doing a 4cyl I just used two kits. it's only $80 per kit for two 180* U-bends, two 90* elbows, and two straight lengths about 18" long or so.

You paid double to use those TC Bros kits. I bet they source their kits from Columbia River.

I have been buying the cheapest Titanium off eBay for bends and whole pipes to mod. Ti is as easy or easier to weld than SS and much lighter as you know.

All this nice Ti for $85 shipped http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-kawasaki-zx10r-exhaust-manifold-header-/281930897812?hash=item41a4641994:g:p2UAAOSwHQ9WW7c5&vxp=mtr

Each pipe is flowing for >< 250cc correct? So I think they are 1.5" ID and should be fine.

I wouldn't say double, 4 bends at $12/ea is $48 plus 3' of straight tube for $12 is $60, plus shipping. maybe spent $20 too much? but it also comes with flanges and collars that worked for the cb500 I did it on so I'd say I did ok.

You got what you wanted so all is good right.

Next time if you do want to save bank... I would look at the "B" sale items, boxes of bends, you can find the flanges cheap or buy up used bashed pipes and cut em off, they clean up nice most of the time.

Lot's of you members have welding skills 8) I will too once i get settled in a work space, make a little $ and get some learning.
I was thinking it would be nice to find some 1.5" pipe elbow couplings to assemble my own system and then have someone weld it up.I'm trying to find ::) a person who will make me a mandrel bent 27" long headpipe for my CB125S w/ about 3-4 bends total;would it be better to want steel pipe for the ease of bending it for the man doing the job or what about if I could find someone to bend me one from SS ?

Get SS it welds up nice with copper colored beads no need to do much but clean it.

Wrapping the header will promote rust and eventually it will fail, but if you never let it sit wet it takes a long time.

A local powdercoating place will ceramic coat the pipe even if it's steel but if the tube bender dude could bend SS I like that better.

Just about any mandrel bender can bend SS it just requires a brass wiper die and some skill to keep it smooth, the trouble with some is the slag cutter leaves a long strip of slag inside and some guys forget to remove it causing ripples and loss of materials on the balls.

What would be slick is to have the shop reduce say 3/16 - 1/4" to match ID end operation on a few bends for slip joints to make your welds a bit more simple. Butt welds are not real tough but you need practice, I used to do it a lot and still run a few practice runs every time.

SS doesn't rust, even with wrap on the pipes.
Finding someone that can mandrel bend you up a single piece 27" with multiple bends will be very expensive to do just one or 2.

I was no very clear... I meant steel tube will rust, SS can also if the nickel content is low or "cheap" SS

Wen I was bending pipe I could run on manual and bend to a coat hanger while saving the bends, just use steel and toss them until it's perfect then run as many as you want.

I used to setup and run an Eagle IO just like this: and many other C-arm benders and end op machines.
