hi guys, all brand new to this site, i usually hang out in vmax world or the ratbikezone (uk)
i'm in sunny (lies, i mean rain sodden) melbourne and have had a vmax for about 5 years, its slowly mutating into a ratty streetfighter but i do love a good cafe racer too. my Vmax has dodgy matt black paint/fat MX bars/rd250lc headlight/huuuuuge brakes and GSXR calipers though i've got Hayabusa 6 pot calipers waiting to go on soon/mini indicators/LED tail-light/fat rear tyre/jet kit/belly pan etc.
i've had a few 'onda 750/4's in the past and they wandered between cafe and chopper, depending on seats/bars/forks etc.
i started off on vespas and lambrettas back in the early 80s and kept crashing and blowing them up until i eventually got the message and moved to bikes with the help of my good friends at BikeBarn in elizabeth st
had a few 250s then GS750/850s and an awesome GSX1100 that got the clipons/ss900 fairing/cb1100r seat and was excellent fun and stupidly fast too.
i also have a BSA C11G 250 which will become a trials bike in the fullness of time ( i inherited it or i would have chosen a far more suitable/interesting bike to start with)
i'm also hoping to get my hands on a cb750k7 (or two) in the near future which will prob go cafe racer as choppers are getting a bit problematic regowise down here these days. but either way it'll be going on club reg as will the Max next year. $90 for 90 days is hard to beat when you want to own 2 or more bikes.
anyway. talk to you all later and maybe catch you on the road somewhere
cheers spotty

hiya bondy, nice toy to have in the shed, mate of mines got one, first thing he did was put Ikon shocks on, totally transformed the handling, also he still hasn't told the missus that the cover comes off the pillion seat........he took the rear pegs off and shes none the wiser LOL

I am looking in to new rear shocks. My misses knows about the pillon seat but does not want to get on. Since the photo was taken I have put the stock rear guard and tail light on but have ordered a lucas tail light and blinkers plus some other parts from the UK.
I will post some more picks when I have them on.

Hey guys,

The name is Tom and I hail from Sydney.

My current project is a 1976 Honda CB750 (F1). In my spare time I like to work on my project and ride my other bike (a slightly less vintage 2009 Yamaha R1).

I am in the early days with my project - still in the strip down phase, about to remove the engine from the frame and begin detabbing the frame. This is my first cafe project and I cannot wait to get this beast on the road again, with a new lease on life!

Hey all!

Just joined the forum and in the midst of building my first Cafe Racer/Brat style bike. I'm not following any particular theme just doing what I like as a trial run for a bigger and better build considering this my first bike build (done plenty of cars).

Regular rides are a 1098 and StripleR.

Oh, almost forgot...CX500 Custom.

I guess I'll do a proper build thread elsewhere on the forum?

Welcome Cazzo, where in Aus are you? I can't quite work out the colour of the Ford's number plate in the background...

Hey Mate, I'm in Victoria.

Great project bike there, and plenty of good places to get parts and project help here in Victoria.

If you get going, you may have it ready for 'Oil Stained Brain 2013'.

My ct110 cafe racer

It is a 1996 honda ct110, fully customised.

I completely rebuilt the whold bike and did all the modifications myself at home

New piston and rings (first oversize) lucky to have done 500kms since
new 26mm mikuni carb, manifold and filter
stator fully rewound a few months ago($230)
seals replaced

custom upside down forks and disc brake front end conversion from a wrecked 125 pit bike
3.5 inch rear rim laced to original hub. 120 rear tyre.
brand new front tyre
clubman handle bars
bar end mirrors
pit bike exhaust with modified shape and custom double muffler to keep noise down.
New paint, just needs some honda stickers to finish off. 16t front sprocket ( top speed now of 105km/h on flat with no wind)
led tail light/ brake light
new blinkers
custom lockable case made from original air filter
Bike starts great, runs great and is good fun to ride. Turns lots of heads.

Here's my cb360, looking to convert into a brat-style of bike. Would like to do a cafe conversion on another bike but for my first build I'm going for the brat-style.
Suggestions would be great if anyone has worked on these bikes or has knowledge of these bikes.

Cheers!

Hold on... CB360 outfit with trailing link front forks on it... man brat it the way it is! Never seen a brat style outfit before... that would be quite uniquely awesome ;D
