Kawi ZRX Cafe Project

Re: New Guy with a Major Project

Put the motor in this afternoon! Also got the list of things to do this week from the bossman 8)

New Guy with a Major Project

Finally it around to modifying a set of rear set plates I made before school got out. Still have some work to do on the right side and get matching bolts and we'll be set. Also got the header mounted to start planning the exhaust, and got the switch housings together. Planning on having it running by the time we go back to school.

New Guy with a Major Project

Carbs and pods are on, some wiring is done but still have a few plugs that don't have a match.
Thanks for all the comments. It really means a lot

New Guy with a Major Project

Haven't been posting much because all that has been done is little bits for the bike. We have a new electrical system on te way because we have an ignition, wiring harness, an ECU from 3 different bikes. We starts on te paint yesterday. Can't say what it will look like exactly, but its black and BRIGHT green.

Put some fork gators on yesterday to go with the shiny CZ wheels :)
Have some wiring to do and a clutch slave cylinder to rebuild and we SHOULD be able to crank this bad boy up :thumbs

Dude! I just found this thread. Looking great. My daily ride is the same bike. Subscribed.
Thanks!
The ZRX is a really cool bike with a bunch of potential.

Are you a member on the ZRXOA?

I am but I haven't signed on there in quite some time. Probably will now that you mentioned it.

All of the electronics we could fit have been mounted to go underneath the hump on the seat. A huge list of parts we need to get it running have been ordered. Should be ready to start in a week or so. Getting really pumped about this bike now that I can see it all coming together.

We got all of the graphics laid out o the tank as well as paint. A couple coats of clear and we should be close to having a street legal motorcycle :)

I'll try to get some pics for y'all tomorrow

Got all the wiring figured out, ordered a new radiator and a new ignition switch.

Very nice, clean work! Wish my head was in the place yours is when I was 16.

Thanks! Just wait till it has bodywork on it ;)

Me and dad have talked about doing a project like this before. My brother started building this up as a track bike, but lost interest. I wanted to take a frame and make a bike. We're almost there and it's too close to the end to quit now.

So close I can smell it!

It has a chain and by the end of the week should have a "new" shortened muffler and reshaped midpipe. Still waiting on the jet kit and new ignition switch and it'll be on the road :D

Colin

I took the muffler and cut it off about 5" or so this week. The way the midpipe kicks the muffler out, I figured a shorter one would look better. What y'all think? It doesn't really matter, but I'm just looking for ideas for another bike I the future ;)
