Maritime's new GL - 2UP Distance eater

Oh yes and I got this tax free. Will make wiring funner.

I always recommend a few shooter bottles of Turkey Honey or American Honey whiskey for wire jobs

So how much of this did I get done LOL. the infection coming back sure did impact trying to get this all done in 13 days.

TO DO:
Wiring - all systems, new gauge, required lights to be legal. NOPE
Brakes - Front bled, rear checked, new rear line can wait. NOPE
Cables - New throttle cables installed, clutch checked and lubed, choke mounted and lubed. One thing
Seat - GL1100 pan modded to fit 1000, foam carved, some kind of cover - OK got the leather at least for this
rear fender - mounted - NOPE
Rear lights - tail and turns mounted, may need to use leftovers temp for now. - NOPE
Mount exhaust. HALF!
Make bracket for heal toe and mount. NOPE

However things not on list done were new clutch perch and brake/clutch levers mounted. And swapped out bent kick stand for straight one of the 1100.

Other:
Fix broken sparkplug wire, clean drain holes in Head, change oil, re-fill coolant. check clamps for leaks

Wow, let's see if that can get done in 13 days with the gimp leg. Apparently not much, but any forward motion is good.

I have 2 days to get it done for a day trip, not likely but I will try as one day is a Sat. The dad in law helped with some hard stuff for me to do alone as well which leaves easier stuff for me.

Hell no I have the CX I can ride for one day, I'll get the GL done for the big ride in July come hell or high water.

New pipes. Need to bend hangers to put them just right but look ok to me. Doing throttle cables and controls then putting the new to me k&n in and new to me false tank back and can start rewiring.

cut 2inches off the front in a straight line

and bolt it on inplace of that gold one

Fuck I hat my internet. Typed a huge update and it crapped instead of loading. Got shit done, had to redo shit from stupidity and dyslexia. Close to wire time.

In wrapping the last of the harness found a rusty cable clamp in the battery to solenoid connection that can't be good. Kinda glad I am rewiring.

This happened. The crack will have to stay for a bit.

I think I have the spot for the board to mount. I'll drill and tap some holes to mount it. The I can start running wires. It's in the pics above.

Ain't this pretty. Amazing the bike could go 4000 miles without issue on that rusty connection.
