I used autodesk inventor for several frame designs, and the fram simulator is an awesome tool.
Let's you apply forces anywhere, any way, shows you frame deformation, peak stresses etc...
Oh nice! Great looking frame. Im more familiar with Solidworks, which as you probably know has very similar functionality to the Adobe product.
FreeCad does not seem to have Finite Element Analysis, but I could be very wrong. A quick google gave me a ton of options.
Free apps like LISA ( http://lisafea.com/ ), will give the cheap seats Free Cad users this functionality.
I haven't tried it yet, but apparently you save out your object as a .step file and import into Lisa.
Most definitely worth getting my teeth into this, as its going to take a bunch of guesswork out of things.
.... AND onto that note: my current progress: (again WIP)
Frame is starting to look the way I want it to, but I've got under constrained areas, and as well as some areas that can potentially be optimized.
The blue tubular areas are the new framework, and the grey is the existing framework.

STEERING
- The ATV has a simple system for pushing and pulling the steering rods, and initially I was just going to use that.
- But the handlebar will definitely give more leverage than a small steering wheel.
- And "A" has the strength of .... an 8 year old little girl .
- I figured that it wouldn't be much fun if she was wrestling the steering.
Late'ish model VW Rabbit.
Picked up a steering box from a junkyard. The guy phoned around and found me a steering column at another junkyard.
Waited while they removed it from the car for me.
Got a new universal linkage.
Bonus was that the Rabbits steering column has the clutch and brake pedals attached, so Im going to incorporate these.
I got an adapter for the VW column to fit our aftermarket steering wheel.
