My 81 GS450 Cafe Build

jfman: Not that loud, but still noticeable. I fabbed some baffles to put in the pipes. This video was before my new tank and seat, but the exhaust was the same.

Thanks!!

I seldom think to take pictures when I'm working on something. :-[
I get my mind set on what I'm doing and typically don't stop for anything until I'm done. But I'll try to explain what I did.

For the coils, I used a bracket like you did over the backbone, and secured the coils to the bracket with zip ties. Since they rest in the nook between the backbone and the two lower tubes, they're pretty secure in there.

For the front tank mount, I used the 2 upper screws that held the plastic frame covers in place that were used on the T models, put them back in the holes they came out of, and screwed them in enough that the stock rubber tank pads were flush against the frame. The screw heads fit perfectly into the holes in the tank mounting pads.

The rear mount currently consists of a ziptie ran between the 2 rear T tank mounts on the frame, and another through the tab on the E tank, then around the first ziptie. It keeps the tank from moving around for now, until I can fab a solid bracket. I'll try to remember to get some pics when I have the tank back off to install a new rear mount.

Sounds pretty solid. I like your idea for the front mounts of just screwing the pads in. Sounds easy!

For the rear I have a PDF of the bracket that I made to utilize the two T-tank frame mounts into the one S/E bolt hole if you'd like a copy.

Here's a good pic of the color for Carpy:
