My CB200 Build - AKA "Incognito" - UPDATE MARCH 21 - VIDEO PROOF THAT IT LIVES

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

looking good with the decals mate, are they ther stock rear shocks or aftermarket? im looking for some on mine at the moment.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Thanks guys, they are the stock shocks. I will probably end up swapping them in the future for some better ones as these are pretty rigid....

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Just found this. Gorgeous paint scheme and I LOVE the seat/blinker/taillight set up. Very very nice. Look forward to seeing that engine in there. Should be pretty.

Here is some outdoor eye candy for you guys....

Just a tip for you, don't clear coat over vinyl decals... it causes them to get mini wrinkles... SOOO I will powder coat my tank this winter was was previously planned. Besides there are some small scratches on the tank already.... Whoops.

Still looking good though!

I will have my top end of my engine back in my possession next week. Will have it dropped in the bike hopefully before the weekend. Then I will tune everything up and get her going!

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Well I started the reassembly of my motor. Everything was going smooth until I snapped a piston ring... UGH. Had to order a set of rings. They will be here by monday. Hopefully I can still meet my projected date! Pressure is on!

I also made my seat pan out of pvc, and put on my foam. I have temporarily upholstered it with a pair of old jeans. Mostly because the wife doesn't want me to spend more money on the cycle. This winter when things go out to get powdered, I will probably get it upholstered then.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Where abouts in south dakota are you. I thought i was the only one... im in SF.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Sorry, my plates are a lie. I am from NW Iowa.... although I bought the bike in SF off of craigslist!

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Where are you from in Iowa. I live in Sioux City.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

I'm in orange city, just 45mins from sioux city, and 1 hour from sioux falls.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Sweet. I do alot of work there. I used to live in Hawarden, Ireton, And LeMars.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Sweet, maybe once we get our projects on the road (and find some other locals on here) we could plan a meet!

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Sounds like a plan to me! I warn you though, my bike is close to running, but it is not going to be show worthy for awhile.... The funds leave faster than they come in. How much did it cost to get your seat upholstered? and who did it for you? Also, any recommendations on cheap blasting and powdercoating place?

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

My seat was done in LeMars. 100 bucks. Dropped it off thursday night. Had it friday at noon. I have my own setup for soda blasting and i sand blast at work. Let me know if you need anything. Id be more than willing to help.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

I warn you, I might take you up on that offer..... But it might not be until riding season is over and my fabrication is done. Dry build, reassemble, ride, disassemble, powder, reassemble, ride. That is my plan. Currently in the first reassembly phase, but should be done with that this next week.

mine isnt road ready yet... hoping for June 1 to get phase 1 complete and have her back on the road. as for show ready... maybe next summer after the winter teardown and re-build i have planned. as for my seat... the one that came on the bike was an old skateboard with some foam and vinyl on it that the PO did himself. Im doing my own new seat using camping mat. Ill be upholstering it myself with some vinyl soon. just have to figure out if i want to stich it in some way or just wrap it temporarily since this wont be the permnant seat.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 4

Well, my goal for being back on the road is June 4th. I hope to make that date. We will see. I broke a piston ring on reassembly... so thats all I am waiting on.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

Looks like i cant type... I wish it was june 1 since that is already here... im shooting for July 1!

Good luck with the rings and re-assembly! I hope you get her going this week.

Re: My CB200 BUILD - THE END IS NEAR - PROJECTED DRIVE DATE JUNE 3

The bike is looking really good! I just began working on my CB200 [again] last weekend.

I'd be a little worried about this:

One of the new cables *sorry for the phone quality pics*

Those look like CB175 carb manifolds with no plastic insulator between the carb and head... I know because I tried running my bike last year like this. It would die once I got the engine heated up and wouldn't start again until it cooled off. I had a lot of issues getting the bike to run correctly so the insulators were just a part of it.

To run those manifolds with the insulator you'll either have to get longer studs [m6x35] or bolts. The CB200 manifolds come up on eBay every so often but sell for like $40.
