The Machine looks to be going great. The knee dents you put in the tank appear awesome in the pics. And your paint idea is really growing on me. Maybe slick gloss white and flat black. Try making the badge bigger in photoshop. excited to see it with exhaust.
Im restocking an old shotgun right now...then maybe get started on my high pipes and rearsets.

Also d2moto.com has the 530 o-ring chain in white. you would have to wipe grime off every so often but it would be cool. People give me shit about my red motor but they all seem to like my red chain.

Great build so far! I like the second paint idea but maybe some accent on the knee dents? Like a darker pinstripe or something going around them. Just my two cents. Great job so far, looking forward to seeing it done :D

I really like the red frame. I'd say keep it. Makes it stick out!

I'll be keeping an eye on this build. Props to you for just gettin' in and doing it!

thanks guys, yea i am going to stick with the red frame for now at least, some day I may rebuild it again but i dont want to go through the work of pulling the motor again. I really did want to do something around the knee dents so I will give that a shot in photo shop, and that white chain is freaking sweet!

some updates, i got some ninja 250 coils and some cool new plug wires and new nkg caps. got my plug wire from thehotrodshop.com

looks like its coming along nice. I know what you mean about ready for some good weather. Weve had several teaser days here in central illinois this winter. Ive gotten to ride a couple times after christmas. but I am ready for some 75 degree weather. Just gonna have to say screw it and start working on swapping my pipes to the high cl360 set. got no money for mufflers yet. to make room for rear sets. also no money for those either LOL

dude its been cold here in missouri. but it is warmed up and i am gonna pull it out tomorrow. i have to put the new case gaskets on and get some anti seize for the case bolts. then i need to start fitting my wireing harness back on. clean my points add some oil and gas and fingers crossed itll run. i dont have a battery yet but somebody told me i could just run jumper cables from my car battery to the leads and it should fire and run that way. please stop me if im about to do something dumb but it made sense to me.

I'd consider getting a handheld impact wrench instead of anti-seize liquid. My screws were frozen into my engine casings. I tried 3 or 4 different liquid combinations to try and get them out, but nothing worked. Then I picked up one of those bad boys from Napa for $30 and they came off first try. Definitely worth the money. I've used it in quite a few places around the bike now.

Here's a link to see what I'm talking about. Explains it pretty well.

I used anti seize on the exhaust manifold bolts on my 70 chevy...mistake. I literally kept a wrench under the hood. cause every time I stopped for gas I had to re-tighten. I used cleaner to clean em up and they never stayed tight again.
Im gonna start using this stuff as soon as I get in town to buy it. Permatex 56521 High Performance Thread Sealant. Its not locktight. it just keeps threads from galling.

Alright so a few more updates, I got a new set of alloy clip ons that I really like, they are a little more forward so now the controls don't hit the tank. and they are super light. I started hooking up my electrical stuff so I could get an idea of how i am going to run everything. right now it is all just bundled up sitting on the handlebars. i am going to hook it up off the bike first to make sure everything works. Oh and I need a battery too. that will probably come in handy. so I am going to try and figure our which one I want to use. I also mounted the ignition key to the tool box mount in the frame turns out they are the same size mounting holes. so far i think i like it there but i may change it later.
