My CB360 barn find

OK, I dont want you to take this the wrong way. I really like you machine best as it sits.
But I was sitting here staring at it the pic...with time on my hands waiting for the mailman to show up w new diaphragms. I got to thinkin "Wonder what that machine might look like in more of a fighter fashion....

might have trouble finding 6 inch longer shocks...and you would run out of gas at half a tank.

Dude that's awesome lol, I would really like to raise the back just a touch, mostly just for clearance sake but I am having a hard time finding the right shocks, I would like to do a fighter some day but I agree the stance of the 360 is pretty good as it is :)

I understand he was just goofing around and not being serious, I wouldn't actually do that to my bike, the handling looks like it would be awful too

Yes sir excellent choice on the tires my friend...check the last page of my build thread to see how they look mounted.

That sure got a rise out em...LOL Maybe I shoulda just tweaked her out just a little bit more!!!
Too bad you may face a clearance issue. I really like it sitting as is.

yea, i am working on it. also, i was really looking forward to the shorty mufflers. BUT i have been talking with crazy pj, and he is pretty against the short pipes, and says that the 360's run better with long pipes. i found these at my local parts salvage yard.. how can i tell if these high pipes will work on my 360? i think i would like the look of these. if the price is right why not?

they look like the same pipes on this 360

The high pipes go on CLs not the CB. I read somewhere that it's not a direct plug and play. Might want others to chime in.

As long as you make sure they are 360 high pipes and not 350s. make sure to try and get original brackets. otherwise your making brackets.
At first I didnt like the high pipes but they have really grown on me over the past year. lose the stock muffs and put your shorties on them. wrap em up in gray/silver pipe wrap. or just paint the heat shields in black will look good w the white and black stripe

Yea if I get them I was planning on doing the heat shields black I think that would look cool. If I fit my shortys to the high pipes, is it actually going to lengthen my overall exhaust? The idea was to stretch things out to build up sufficient back pressure and increase the performance. I didn’t like the high pipes at first, not at all, but I totally agree with you, after seeing them on a few bikes I think they are pretty awesome looking. those pipes will probably be there for a while, and I have just about run out of money for now, I have started painting the tank and have what I need to finish, I have plenty of parts i can mess with in the meantime, but I think the next big money I spend is going to be (birthday money in July) on a pair of rearsets. Hopefully DungramK gets his custom cb360 rearsets done by then. Then tires, then turn signals, lights, switches. then.. gas! This has been kind of a lengthy build since I am a poor college student newlywed with new baby on pretty crappy enlisted military pay. So things are taking a bit longer than I would like them to. But I have really enjoyed this project and the transformation has been a lot of fun. Having never built a bike before, I am learning a TON and challenging myself all the time. I cannot wait to ride it, but I am almost going to be sad when it is done because... it’ll be done... I know they always need SOMETHING. But there is something inspiring about a dirty old motorcycle begging to be resurrected. Giving it new life and taking 20 years off its decrepit tatty appearance. I am a much bigger fan of the process and less of the result. I would like to do some alloy shouldered rims, and maybe someday do a big bore to like a 390 or something crazy. (pj did it!) I can see myself transforming this bike several times over. Maybe a full faring vintage racer? Or streamline it and take it to Bonneville. Or both! But I still need to finish this first build! Ill post some more pictures tomorrow probably.

I know what you mean...I like riding mine okay....but I love working on that damn thing. Just keep on keeping on.
when it comes time to paint the pipes let me know. I painted mine under the wrap...maybe have a tip or two. so your not wasting time or money.

Re: My CB360 barn find(updates)

alright, so i went out to the garage with every intention of sorting out my rear fender. 2 hours later i had a sweet FRONT fender.? oh well, i am really happy with the look of the fender, still not set on how the rear yet... ill figure it out.

I have CL360 pipes on my CB360 and they work just fine. I still need to get my heat shields mounted.

That is looking nice. Similar to the Ducati monster paint. What is the plan for the rear fender?

That's where I got the idea, my first bike was a monster 750, still working on the rear fender..
