My cb360t cafe project

I liked the strech, but I would rather live longer. Got a stock swing arm all painted and ready! Thanks for the help guys.

I'm also letting the tank sit with some vinegar to get ride of a little rust inside.

How'd the tank come out? There looks like hardly any rust in there so you should be alright. Usually helps to shove some screws in there and shake them vigorously to scrape off any loose flakes of rust.

I still have the vinegar in there. But even with no scraping or nails anything it's so clean now!

I also tested my coils and I need a new left one.
Anyone got an extra laying around? Haha
I'm not sure if it's better to just buy a universal one? Or a used 360 one from eBay?

Sorry . I only have a right one and it's for a Yamaha and it only works when there's no voltage applied ...

I bought the xt600 coil. I've read of a lot of people using it because it's inexpensive. I'm still confused about if you need to use resistor caps with it or not?

I also was able to replace my fork seals. Everything went great but on one side I can't tighten the very bottom Allen bolt! It just keeps spinning. The one side worked great. Any ideas or suggestions how to tighten that up? I took it all apart and tried again and still no luck. Some guy on YouTube suggested using a broomstick or something to shove down there to stop it from turing inside.

I've got extra shock bushings because every set comes with several. I took about 3ft of half-inch all thread and tapered one end then threaded a bolt, washer, rubber shock bushing, washer, and bolt at the same end a couple of inches up then slide it into the fork shaft and tap it into the fork piston to hold it. I thread two bolts for the other end and use a wrench to hold it in place while I tighten the allen bolt at the bottom of the shock.

Pardon if I'm wrong - but can't you just compress the shock and then tighten the lower bolt?

I don't think so.

The allen screw threads into the oil lock piece. You can try to jam it by pressing down on the fork tube, but with one of my forks I had to use my "special" tool to keep the oil lock piece from spinning.

Gotcha. I have found that with most of those I can pull up on the fork lower while standing sort of over and beside the bike and it's enough to hold it captive.

I did mine off the bike. Maybe it's easier and makes more sense to do it on the bike. That could be the difference.

Thanks guys! It was weird because the one worked like a charm. I'm going to try it out and see if I can't get it tight.

Got the wiring tray made and welded in.
Finished the frame for the seat and drilled it through for attachment.

Taped up the foam! This might actually be a seat one day!

I haven't had much time between work and school but i have done a little bit.
got the tank all clean... again. I didn't rinse out the vinegar and it was horrible. But this time worked great and the tank is now very clean inside.
fuel lines and petcock all set up.
but realized that when i went to put on the exhaust manifold i didn't have the joint collars so i'm going to need to get some
Are they really this expensive? seems like a lot for a simple part.
