I seem to have missed something, where are shock mounts?
stacygwiner1 said:Making a custom seat pan to fit is next, so yes it will conform. Then we're redoing the shock mounts. Making a custom electrical box for beneath the seat as well. Still lots to do.
3DogNate said:Make sure you have space and the mounting sorted out for your battery of choice... otherwise you'll severely limit your battery options.
CharlieT said:Ahh-Ha, so this is the thread I've heard so much talk about. Interesting. Don't know much about old bikes or customizing them, so can't be of much help, but I've got lotsa opinions and they're free.
Detroit area, eh? Ever been to The Ton-up Ypsi??
CharlieT said:BSA....good choice. Got a '68 Beezer myself. Raced a 441 BSA Victor back in the late '60s. Is his an A65 or is it a 1965...or both?
Here's a little thing someone put together about the Ton-up last year.

Check out that handsome devil unloading a bike in the 2nd pic. ;D

YEP 1965 A65 BSA lightning. Looks goofy at the moment with a sportster tank, chopper looking thing with massive ape hangers. He mainly bought it for the frame, motor and girder forks. He's got some pretty sweet plans for it.
As far as my bike goes, my plans are to get it "finished" enough soon so I can ride it this summer. Then tear it down this winter to clean it up really good and paint/powder. Tanks got a nice size ding that needs fixing and some surface rust and chips in the frame.
Are you in Michigan?
CharlieT said:Yup, we're westsiders, just a short jaunt down I94 @exit 88.
Sure don't feel "old", but I got my first bike (which I still have) in 1965.....so its been 50yrs ago that I started riding and wrenching. SOmehow managed to survive that "young and stupid" phase, just wondering when that "old and wise" one will get here.
Sportster tank, girder front end.....is hubby's A65 been made a hardtail or is it still a twin shocker?
