My first ever CB450 build has commenced.

I haven't piped in yet, but the build looks great. Amazing even.

I just hope they're is a follow-up video of you out riding it.

I didn't see it mentioned in the thread anywhere, but how did you lower the front and how far?

Bike looks awesome.

This is easily one of my favorite builds on here. I keep finding myself going back and rereading it.

Mind telling me where you got the tank?

Bravo. Yeah, baby! That's the level of detail I aspire to and that I find on this forum. Oh, and nice shoes and mani. :)

Thanks guys.

The front is completely stock and I'm pretty sure I didn't lower it.

It's Benjies Dolphine tank and seat combo I got shipped out to Oz.. Great guy and great work or should I say outstanding craftsmanship ;D

Well give us a vid man! Stoked for you.

I'm going in to check it out today and to hear it start for the first time in over a year :D it's really cloudy here in Oz and chances of taking it out are very slim. Well, not until my first bike show which is coming up will I take Bonita Applebum out in the rain ;)

The guys who are working on it reckon they cannot get it to start with a batteryless eliminator and say I need to run a battery on it, has anyone had success not running a battery and how you overcome this problem? cheers

Oh, so that's what was wrong with your bike? You could not get it to run because of the battery issue? A lot of guys that try to run like that on the xs650's face the same issue, they want to make the bike, kick start only but they have to swith their alternator to a "permanent magent alternator" so they can run a smaller sealled battery or capacitor.. Most guys get one from another bike to fit into theirs. I don't know what kind would fit into yours. but I'm sure someone has already done it. the way they work is like lawn mowers do, you pull the start cable, and the PMA creates the voltage needed to send spark to the motor. However on a motorcycle you still need to run lights etc, so you will still need a voltage rectifier/regulator. or you will fry your electronics and or blow your battery.

Beautiful build by the way. I'll be working on one next year.

Really happy for you Spidey! Can't wait to see her in person... counting the days (23 to go!) ;D ;D ;D

It looks lowered. Did you get short shocks for the back or is it just a trick of the eye with your new rear frame hoop?

From what I understand, the 450s need a battery to run, but I am no expert. Glad she is running!

Sounds great spidey, can't you just squeeze a sealed battery in there where the hump of the rear cowl is? Otherwise you're gonna have to convert your alternator, like I mentioned earlier.

Attempting to fit a battery under the rear cowl (seat??)

The rear shocks are stock, but I do have a set that are 3/4" longer that I'll be putting on after the bike show ;D
