What brackets are those for the headlight bucket? They look like passenger pegs from a newer sportbike.

I got the brackets from eBay, I did a search for caferacer and searched other countries too.

Benjies work is awesome and I couldnt have ask for any better.

fantastic work spidey ;D

Did I miss something, or is there a 'clearance' issue with that rear tyre/seat frame?

ian

Oh. never mind. I've just noticed the wheel isn't fitted in the arm. ::)

carry on ;)

Just don't you love polishing ;D my problem is that the more i do the more is see wrong and go back over it again and again :D :D just have to except that it'll never be perfect. Picked a great bike for a build and one that is trashed/thrashed is the best, there must be a dozen 450 builds going on and another dozen finished on the site, no pressure but what's the target date :D :D mine was 2 months ago ::). Keep the pics a coming!

Rod from OZ 8)

haha this is so true. It is a little addictive. The only place my bike didnt get a dose of polish is on the hubs and thats only because if i polish the hubs I have to polish the spokes which might come off a little mental :  yours look very nice!

Good looking bike there spider man. However, I'm concerned about the close proximity of that rear bar under the seat to the wheel once you're on it and riding. Please tell me they are not going to foul on each other.

I recently modified a similar bucket to house a HID conversion, the new light is ultra white laser beam.

bought this HID

Try this sealed moped beam. (its 6v so it won't work) but email them they do have a 12v that should fit but is still not very bright.

I bought the sealed 6v bulb, grinded out the old bulb, inserted the HID conversion with a high beam. now i am melting faces.

I guess I should jump out infront of my G/F if we're ever to pass each. We wouldn't want her boobies melting would we ;D
Ill give that headlight a go, thanks for the heads up on it Mike.

Spidey, this really does look spectacular. I know that's been expressed but I want to add my voice to the chorus!

I do see one thing that worries me and I'm sure you're aware and may have already addressed it however I'd be remiss if I didn't say something seeing how effing gorgeous this thing is turning out....

You don't have enough clearance between your back tire and the rear loop of your frame (never mind that flat plate under the seat. Again, if this has been addressed disregard, but it's so pretty...it'd be terribly disappointing to find it unrideable once it's buttoned up. The frame on these bikes (CB/CL450 and 500T) were designed such that the tire can pass between the frame rails under compression....like a big bump in the road or perhaps a large ass on the seat (HA!)...
As it currently stands, any weight on the seat/pegs is going to cut into what static clearance you have currently and while you may be able to putt around on it, any spirited riding with result in tire to frame contact.

That's bad.

Seeing that this bike is so far along and (again) so fookin' pretty....I see a couple ways you can go...
1) rebuild your swing arm with raised lower shock mounts. Add an inch or so there and you should be good though that'll change your geometry and you'll likely need to run a steering damper to keep the slappers from killing you.

2) Longer rear shocks. Again, your geometry will be changed (steeper cumulative steering head angle) and you'll need that damper, but you'll also likely need to add bump stops to those longer shocks.

3) While somewhat odious in light of the lovely powder on the frame and the nice cohesive shape to the tail and rear loop......
If this were my bike I'd bite the bullet and cut that loop right at the rear shock mounts and re-weld it angled up to allow clearance. I'd also ditch that flat pan under the seat and use a section of fender or the stock black plastic inner fender to cover that area under the seat hump. If you've got stuff stashed under there you'll have to rework placement but it's about the only way I see this being rideable.

I'd take the springs off the shocks and let it sag to the limits of available travel and build for the needed clearance.
Your seat will need to be trimmed, but you *may* be able to save the silver portion o the paint work and just reapply your stripes.

I'm really sorry amigo, but better caught now than later. I hope you kow...I'd rather be wrong about this but I'm afraid I'm not.

Thanks for the heads up Swagger, Im liking option 1 at the moment.
I was hoping I could get away with it. I wonder if BCR have had the same problem with this?
