My XS650 build

I have a blue mack OO and a Kafka scrolling i think size O. I have been trying to use both of them but the mack is quite a bit harder for me, the Kafka seems to move a lot easier. I really have done almost no pinstriping, I am very new to that. My line consistancy is getting better. I will post some more up when I get some more done. I have done some more designs but am not happy, my eye for the designs hopefully will get better, a couple have been pretty bad looking.

Troy, thanks for the words. I went for the dropseat because I wanted something most people don't have. I have gotten to a point where I do not think it will be much fun to ride, and have decided to go for a more traditional bobber hardtail. I will make it mine by building it and putting my own stripes down on it if I get better. I have been thinking about Frisco pegs on a traditional bobber because they look fun to ride, but that part will be decided farther down the road. If not Frisco then I am almost certain to go with mids, I agree with your ideology behind the mids. I am checking into the light conversion, the issue is that it is not a sealed beam (as you pointed out). I will have to implant a different socket into the light, I will do some searching and try to find a good way to do it, this light is not as friendly as the taillight I swapped.

Hopefully I will have something to update on in the near future.

Finally, I am at a point in my Apprenticeship where I will be able to take some time to put some work in on the bike.

After my big test in June I am going to spend a couple weeks on the frame of the bike. I am getting all my ducks in a row now to be sure I will be able to go as soon as I am done.

I am going to build a traditional bobber hardtail and try to button up all of my frame work, hopefully to include paint.

I am looking at doing a real paint job on the tank and fenders and such but need to do some research as far as whatever I need. I found a House of Kolor color that I really like and have been thinking about going that route but am unsure. I will find a better place to post some questions about paint.

Look for updates as I get going!

Well, here is my update... There i not update. I was getting all of my stuff ready, got my tubing and got it bent, picked up a rear fender and such. Then I had a chat with the wife. I don;t have a lot of time with the apprenticeship and such so she talked me into buying another bike that I can ride, it was a hard sell ;).

My other bike is going to be a hot rod bike (build is linked at the bottom). This bike will be finished after I finish the apprenticeship, it is on a longer term hold - but not dead!

I know the feeling, my XS hasn't been looked at for about 2 yrs.
I have got a lot of 360's started though ::)

My other build is another xs. I have been reading a lot of your stuff on different pistons and rods at "the garage". When it is time to build the engine I will probably hit you up for some info/suggetions. First up is the handling and suspension though

Yes and they are up higher than standard controls giving you the ability to get some good lean while still being super low... Credit goes to jimmy souza who is the OG frisco style builder in the 70's.

Lately the guy over in Japan have been using them a lot.
