Hey all,
Another newbie from Brisbane, Australia. I'm in the not unique situation of selling all of my toys as my wife is pregnant and I am embarking on a project to cafe racer a CT110 postie bike because a) it's cheap; and b) I can hide in my shed and not be disturbed by my wife!
Ironically, I've signed up to this site knowing my bike will never 'do the ton'!
The bike is already in pieces and is off to the paint shop next week: ski boat metallic sky blue frame and tank will look the vintage goods!
Other bits to be painted include getting black rims/ spokes/ hubs and fork lowers and bars. Style wise, I'm looking for 50's California: white walls, mini speedo in the headlight surround, hidden throttle cable and wiring and a 1kg nitros tank as an airbox/ wiring box. My cafe racer seat, complete with rear hump was delivered yesterday so I'm well excited!
It's a bit wanky but it's great fun and astounding how many people get the shits when you say you're modifying a postie bike!
Anyway, I'll be on here a bit for hints and tips and general chit chat.
Take it easy.
Matt
