No spark now?

on yeah, im used to doing and redoing, I have been rebuilding cars for the passed 15yrs. Ok, so I will focus my attention on the points then.

Well got the points cover off. Now gotta do some research on this whole points business.

You can see where they open and close. I can see irregularities on the contacts... Get some fine sand paper like 600+, fold it in half (so when place between the contacts both sides of the contact are exposed to the grit) let them close on the paper, then pull the paper out. do this a couple times per set of points. You have 2 sets their.

Correct. Go easy on the grease though. It only needs a very fine film over it.

Are you familiar with the gapping process?

re-gaping means, use a feeler gauge inplace of the sand paper. and tighten adjustment screw to hold said gap..

Ok, so I thought I was watching the you tube video. He was adjusting his timing as well. What your saying makes sense, so be back in a bit with an update.

Yup. Gapping first, then timing. Changing the gap changes your timing so it's important to get that done first.

Can tell from the picture that you need a points adjustment. Hope your spark problems are that easy, check your points gap anually.

Ok I cleaned the points, and gapped them to .0015. The points are throwing out a pretty good spark now, but im not seeing that at the spark plugs, so Im guessing I need to replace the condensor?

Typo? It should be .015" not .0015".

If gapping is correct, a replacement condensor sounds like a good idea.

alright I got the points re-gaped and seeing a little bit better of a spark at the plugs. So probably need that condensor? I am pulling the sparks plugs and they are wet with fuel, so hopefully my carbs are good. thats for another thread though. I need to get this spark down.
