Been Around the Block
Ok, well here we go. My first post! My 3rd build. This is a Son and Pop adventure! So any and every bit of advice is worthy and welcome. No Bad words please! My son is 14 and is as big as me, so I thought what a great opportunity to get him out of the video game world and give him something to look forward to, get his hands dirty and build something for him self when he comes of age. This is his bike!
1982 XV750. Bought it for $500, was sitting for 5 years, in some guys garage before he posted it for sale. Dont know if it runs, he said it did, when they started years ago.
So got it delivered, and Im sure im doing it all the wrong way, so my neighbor says , Thats just the way I like it, My way. So We tore is all down, and in the cleaning stage. Im going cafe style on this build, as seen on some amazing pics online cafe zero style. Not sure if I will do the front end with a super bike front end, depends what pops up, on Ebay for a reasonable price. Was going to do the rear tire swap. Although it still seems challenging even if I order the kit. Im no fabricator, but Ill try my best.
I will post all our pics as we go along on this adventure. One positive thing that we have already agreed upon, is the color scheme.
We are not doing the typical Black bike tank, as I have one of those already, and would like a change up. This one will be a white tank with a red stripe, and Yamaha red tuning fork circle on the side. He likes the idea of painting the forks gold, like the superbikes.
So anyways with out any more chatter here are the pics.
