This is where I started off tonight. However, I didn't get too far.

This stinking clip was a little tricky to pull off.

So this is where I got stuck. Any ideas on how I can pull these two pieces off?

IIRC, doesn't the oil filter have to come off before the clutch basket?

Correct, I'm having trouble pulling that one off too. I've removed the center screw but it doesn't want to budge.

There's a trick to it.......Teazer would know off the top of his head.

Does the 160 require the special "Honda" socket to remove it? Some models do, others don't.

Yep. First off, use an 8mm bolt to remove the outer part of the oil slinger if it isn't already removed.

Then peel back the tang of the lock washer from that castellated nut and undo the nut with a special Honda tool available from Motion Pro. In a pinch you could use a suitable old socket and grind down the end to leave it with 4 small "pegs". Don't forget to undo the two oil pump nuts as well. The pump comes off with the clutch basket.

Or bring it down here on Sunday or Monday evening and we'll strip it in no time. We have all the tools here.
