Oh Lord (CB500) - The Leaky Bitch (p. 31)

Re: Oh Lord (CB500) - ARGHHHHH THIS BIKE HATES ME!!! (pg. 38)

Like I said on FB, try tapping it with a screw driver. If it was coming out of the drain it could be something as simple as a stuck float.

did you ever get this sorted?

Re: Oh Lord (CB500) - Been doing a little riding (pg. 39)

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been very busy at work here recently. I recently went over to the training side of law enforcement, and now I'm working banker's hours, Monday through Friday.

Last Saturday and today, I've had an opportunity to ride it a little. Last Saturday, I had a good time running up and down the main street outside of my subdivision. Today, I took it out a little longer, to a friend's house about 5 miles away. I was just about back to my house when the bike stalled at an intersection, and I couldn't get it going again. When I was finaly able to get it into neutral, I got it out of the intersection and found I couldn't get it started still. The battery was just about cashed. I ended up kicking it back to life, and got it home. Right now, the battery is on the trickle charger (Battery Tender).

It feels more athletic than the Harley I was riding last summer. But damn, do your wrists ever get used to the crouched over riding position? Right now, I am not feeling really fuzzy over the reliablity issues, but I am sure it will work out.

Depends how well your 'six pack' develops ;D
Make sure levers are not set too high, it makes wrists hurt more if they are

Re: Oh Lord (CB500) - Been doing a little riding (pg. 39)

Your wrists are too low (and levers too high) in last vid.
Back of hand and forearm should be almost straight/level as in the first two clips

Eventually. I have a paint scheme in mind, and there is a pin-striper I want to use to stripe it.

Re: Oh Lord (CB500) - Is this noise normal? (pg. 39)

Quick question for those that really know these CB SOHC 4 cylinders:
Ever since the first time I started this thing there is a clacking noise that comes from the top end. The bike seems to run fine, and its not an overly loud clacking noise, but it is there non-the-less.

Is this anything to worry about?

Other than that concern, I've been riding around a little, and its been a lot of fun. Can't wait to get more time on this thing as the weather gets nicer!

Re: Oh Lord (CB500) - Is this noise normal? (pg. 39)

Awesome to see a Vid of her running :) Even in the vid you can hear her ages before you see her and she sounds great ;D (clacking noise) how is the cam chain tensioner?

Re: Oh Lord (CB500) - Is this noise normal? (pg. 39)

Yep still running, but I'm not running it for now.:) Its leaking oil and the oil light is on, even though there is plenty of oil in it. :-\

Re: Oh Lord (CB500) - Is this noise normal? (pg. 39)

The only ones available are #9, #10, #11
I can't remember if there is an 'O' ring or gasket under top cover plate? (it isn't listed so you have to find one to fit if it's hard or broken)
SOHC4.net would be a better place to ask, someone probably remembers whats in there and probably the correct size

What's up? Give me a call. I will be up your way Saturday if you need a fresh set of eyes.
