Re: Out in a field Build ... The Sock Monkey

Here are the rearsets ill be useing and waiting on the bungs to get them placed . Will see how this works out and might have to repull the motor to get them nicely welded . From what im being told rear disk spacer should be done by end of the week. Also have new fzr pads coming so rear brake is all done just need to find brake line and can air out the rear brakes !

Steel bungs came in today and will say i couldnt make anything as nice with the tools i have so glad i picked them up.

Picked up bolts and mounted the bungs on the rearset to see where i might mount them to the frame .

Now going to give it a few days to see where and how things will fit then get to work !

Re: Out in a field Build ... The Sock Monkey

If you plan to keep the kickstarter, make sure you check if it clears the rearsets! Ask me how I know.... Lol.

Re: Out in a field Build ... The Sock Monkey

Thank you guys !

So as we all know with time things change and change again . Well over the weekend figured where the rearset would fit and be comfort. Now the problem is where they need to be the exhaust liked the same place so one had to go . I looked at diff ways and keep coming back to the same spot for the rearsset . So the rearsets won and the exhaust will be redone into a 2 into 1 with a small megaphone or something.
I gave welding a try and welded up the right bungs and came out good . Not the best looking welds but strong as once i got it done i mounted the right rearset and put all my weight on it and bounced on it and didnt move .
Also might be going a diff way with the polished parts on the bike will wait to spill the beans when i decide to do it or not ;)

Re: Out in a field Build ... The Sock Monkey

The force is strong with this one

Re: Out in a field Build ... The Sock Monkey

;D
Well rearsets are welded all up and done minus lil more smoothing in . Now im so far from a good welder but after i got them mounted i climbed on . Stood and jumped on the pegs ( 190lb ) and no problems . The seat padding is to thin so need lil more but isnt to bad sitting on the bike . Now just need to clean it lil more and prime and paint . Speaking of paint i was messing around with the broken side cover . Found a red anodized paint and i have alway love anodized stuff . So throw some on and really like it as its just made to be sprayed over polished parts. And even tho i have a bike with chrome on it never liked chrome on a cafe or sport bike . So im going to hit all the polished parts and lil chrome parts with it .
Im looking for a 2 into 1 header if anyone comes across one thanks !!

Looking good! Fyi, make sure you have some kind of opaque cover over that ignition- they use light as a trigger. If light gets in, the triggers get confused.
