I think he meant change it out,
But I don't see any reason not to drill out that mounting hole, put the appropriate size steel rod in there and weld it up on both sides. Then thread the rod and toss an acorn nut on it.
That's what i'd do anyway.

Those boots are in great shape, straps and buckles are usually the first thing to 'go'
Some saddle soap and leather treatment they will look like new. I prefer leather boots, they are real comfy when bedded in 8)

If i remember correctly the Radian clocks are like gold. I was going to put a set on my Seca but gave up because of cost.
