Post a pic of your latest purchase

Some dumbass rivited a bunch of plates together for the back seat, the sun visors are also license plates. I just took everything the guy had, I've started sorting through it all and found a lot of nice parts. A new unmounted transmission raise kit, handful of new gages, switches, extra rebuilt transmission. Have spare doors, body is really good. I've seen a lot of these with rusted out floor pans and heater channels, but this is in really good shape. Already got it titled in my wife's name. and put a big red bow on it for Christmas.

I'm not new to VWs, but definitely new to Beetles. Got a lot of planning to do.

Finally got my hands on one of these for a good price! Decent dent in the top and about 1/8" of paint layers.

I've had a load of Beetles, still have 1970 1300 in garage in Britain.
Almost all Beetles I've had have had rotted floor pans and heater channels ::)

My first two cars were Beetles. I had a '63 1200 on a 6V system but totaled it in a head on collision when I was 16. I picked up a '71 without an engine a few weeks later and swapped the engine from the '63 into it. Besides being woefully underpowered because it should have had the 1600 engine, it was also a 12V system. This is important because the engine flywheel sizes were different and I needed to throw the starter from the '63 into the '71 along with the rest of the engine. They usually lasted about two months before I'd burn one out and have to get another. After my fourth starter I just go used to pushing it. My girlfriend was not terribly impressed.

I just discovered you can get any base coat put into a rattle can. So I got some color for my XL:

Plymouth K2 Vitamin C Orange
2K clear

Well, you didn't get murdered, did you?

I am alive! The guy was pretty cool. He had a ton of half finished projects around his house, i think he was glad to be slimming down. It cost me about $70 in gas to drive down there so technically it was more than 99 cents in the end. Its actually in pretty good condition, I have a small box of parts, and everything is there. I think these are my favorite KZ side covers yet.

Sorry for the blurry pics i think i was a bit excited when i was taking these.

Nice jacket, Drew. Fits right in with the Zed-Rex.

I have the mesh Yamaha version, and like it quite a bit.

Thanks guys. I have a bit of a weakness for motorcycle jackets. :) I have 3 Kawasaki Racing jackets, 1 fabric and 2 leather ones. :-[ As well, a leather "Eddie Lawson" Limited Edition and a 3 or 4 "regular" modern and vintage leather jackets. :-[ It's not the largest colection by any means, just bigger than I need, according to my wife. ;)
