My newly acquired 1977 Moto Guzzi V1000 Convert. This is a shaft drive automatic originally designed for the US police. Not sure if it's practical to make a cafe racer out of this. Where would you start? Leave as is, partial/full restoration or attempt cafe racer custom?

what are you talking about ? the only thing different about it from some of the most beautiful and functional calfs back in the day is that it is an auto or are youi thinking about today's chopper shop spawned, calfay racer style craize ?

Bought this a few days ago. I have a whole set of Ducati Pantah bodywork which I will use on it. Have yet to go to Kansas to pick it up, will probably wait until the weather is warmer......

This eBay store is blowing out a ton of Duc parts, at 75% of cost... maybe you can find some goodies???

Play to a bikes strengths. The auto is a great GT bike.
Don't just feed into the game of dress up.

Yup - just toss some lower, comfortable bars on it, ditch the crash bars and stupid pipes, and focus on making it go and stop effectively. Perfect 1000-mile day bike.

Put a vibrator in the seat and sell it to a Lady rider, tell her it has an inherent vibration that resonates through the seat that you just cant get used to.

that is a very cool helmet. I have been thinking about getting one. How is the visor action? Does it have detents?

DJ, that helmet looks older, but is that a brand new gringo? Looks great, a little too flashy for me. But vintage looking!

I love the visor, well actually, I hate riding visor- less! they help with wind and wind noise. I like the cosy warmth they give on a cold day too.

This should get me back and forth to work cheap until Riding season. 2008 Yaris 120K Miles. Picked it up 3 hrs from home, funny thing with empty freeway it got me home in 2.5.

...and it will tow a trailer :)

I hear that, so I may build a very small light single or double bike trailer. I need to look at the tow rating etc.

Apparantly 700 lbs. so In need a light trailer to tow a bike on, and a light bike too.

Congrats Maritime :)

Thanks Man, I didn't want the payments but they are small and short time so worth it, the civic floor rotted out from under me and the drivers seat let go, when I pulled the carpet it was not a good scene LOL, I couldn't lay the car up for the 4-5 days it would take me to strip it, fix it, and put it back together, so I sold it off in 30 min, then bought the Yaris.

My Honda Fit tows my crappy lightweight 4x8 trailer and 360 just fine. I got the hitch and plug in harness from Etrailer.com for $170.00. Hitch bolted right up in about 30 minutes and harness plugged right in. hitch rated at 200lb max tongue weight & 2000 lb load capacity

so trailer, hitch and harness less than $500. not bad

1974 standard Beetle in pretty nice shape. Someone was trying to Baja it years ago and it's got an upgraded front and rear suspension already. The sunroof is missing and the seats, glass and other bits are in a different storage building. No engine, but I did get a transaxle. Eventually it'll get a Model A Ford front end swap with some 40ish Ford wheels and and olive or tan primer job.

^^^^^^^^^ ooh look, an aircooled Goldwing motor (with only slightly more bodywork than an Aspencade)
