Today I became the proud (?) owner of what may be one of the most ugly motorcycle tanks I've ever seen.

Yep, pretty ugly... and BIG! Ok, now I need some help: what's it from? Come on, DTT experts, help me out.

Suzuki TL1000?

Had a busy week. Felt like I earned this one.

I had a great weekend shopping for Flat Track parts. I showed up looking to buy a Champion frame and somehow left with 4(ish) bikes :-\

1st bike is a MX360 in a Champion Frame. Motor is locked up, and the nickel has started to turn green, but it did come with Ceriani Forks which is a plus

2nd bike is a TT500 that has "allegedly" been fully built as a race engine. I checked the exhaust port and can see its been polished, I also looked in the sparkplug hole and saw everything was new, shiny and unused. Frame has been "heavily" modified. Going to take it to a TT500 expert this week and have him check it out and let me know what he thinks. Gas tank is also new never used. It can only be started with a Remote Starter, or by push starting.

3rd Bike is a mid 70's YZ250 in a Champion Frame. Not sure the condition of the motor.

Last bike is a Rickman Triumph that was last raced in the Sacramento Mile. I plan on returning it back to stock since I have all the glass and the front Rickman Magnesium wheel. Bike belonged to Bob Bakker a landspeed record holder, and long time racer. My friend owns one of Bob's T100 motors, and we will be putting it into my frame. It also has a really cool old Bates seat.

I also picked up 2.5 extra pairs of glass (Tank and seat combo)

My garage is so full that the RT2 I picked up on Sunday is currently living in the back of my truck until I can sell something.

Picked up a new saddle for the CB750...

Sportier while still retaining an OEM look ;)

I picked this up from DTT member jasonb0816 (good guy to deal with btw), so the manufacturer is unknown. But it appears to be one of the Vietnamese seats that are on eBay. If so, I gotta say that the seatpan mold is a spot on repro of the OEM pan. All the hardware bolted right up and matched up to the frame perfectly.

So that did turn out to be '77-'78? Wish I'd been quicker on the draw, you responded right before I was about to ask the same question! Looks great on there, good purchase

Yup, seems to be.
And when I saw it I went "Oh Shit! oh shit oh shit oh shit..." tryin to type real fast with my thumbs :p

Got this sweet butcher block work bench (that I don't have room for) for free from work. Overheard they were getting ready to put it in the "free" pile.

Back when it was fun to work where I work, we used to be able to get stuff like that.

Nowadays we aren't even allowed to take a plastic bag out of here.

sounds exactly like my work, they had to use a shitload of money up last year (or they'd have the budget cut for this year) so they replaced all the filing cabinets in the offices (10 or so 3 drawer ones, which were in perfect condition anyway) and the old ones were stored in the warehouse (cos apparently we've got loads of spare room down there....) and the warehouse boss told me the other day they were going to be sent to the crusher

i said i'd take four of them as they make excellent garage storage and he was fine with that until he mentioned it to his boss who was also fine with it except we have to refer it to HIS boss, who is a right cnut,
as soon as he finds out someone wants them that'll be the end of it. fucked if i'm going to kiss his whining alcoholic arse to get them for nothing, i'd rather see 'em head to the crusher

as an example of what a cnut the cnut can be, a while ago it seemed as if i might have been having a bit of a heart attack at work, everyone was most worried and anxious to get me treated and into an ambulance, the cnut was only worried about A) making sure i had clearance from a doctor to return to work when/if i was fixed and B) getting me off the premises before i popped my clogs on work time. he didn't even want my bike left there while i went to hospital, he was asking if there was someone who could get it out of the place
we've all learned to stay away from him after lunchtime as A) he is invariably argumentative (and full of shit) and B) stinks of cheap red wine

whinge over

Would love to build a Rickman one day.
Cool score!

There used to be a specific thread to post this kind of thing in until a self serving Nazi locked it. Damn shame.
