Just got these in the mail. Kaw H1 heads. The out side two will be machined for use on my gt250.

Just loaded this up. Test rode it a parking lot - thing is terrifyingly fast. I have no idea how people race and control those bikes. Mad respect.

The gent I got it from was super cool. He raced for Penton back in the day - they gave him two race bikes in crates a year and I'm sure he ragged the mess out of them. Neat fellow to talk to for sure. What it's all about.

Oh and he heard that I had a CB175 and threw in a spare motor for free :)

Got this from a friend today, '70 Rupp Roadster. Another project to mess with for a while. Get the engine running, clean up, polish up & paint up.

I think those came out in 1980-81 when Maico actually used a set of fork legs shortened for shocks on a works ride and it rode the bumps so good having no corner speed didn't matter any longer.

[EDIT] My mistake... the Fox Shock was even earlier, here's a write up:

That's a good read, thanks. So those look like first generation Fox, but probably too big for what I need. I'll keep those in mind for the future though.

there is a pair of vintage kyb airshox for bid on ebay now they have no fins remind me of a hairless cat ;D

You guys really go nuts for those shocks eh. There are companies starting to make motorcycle shocks just like that again. I do believe I will try a set on my gs550.

Here is just one set of many available. May help a few get the look without spending all that money. These can be taken apart and reworked to perform better and fit specific applications. I bet they are already much better than many vintage oem shocks.

Shame nobody here knows how to replace shock seals.

Also, most of them use NOK seals from the factory. Also, many oem parts and even whole units are built in china for the big four. Wear blinders if you want to.

Have you actually used them Tuna, or are you just speculating?

Picked up a small metal lathe came with a tool box with a bunch of extras in it.

Nice score on the lathe. I have a little bench top similar to that. Comes in handy for polishing and turning little things, in to even littler things.

Suzuki RM125 roller for $50. The PO couldn't get the last bolt out of the bottom end, so he said fuck it and threw it in.

I am not comparing. Just providing a link to a shock of a similar design. Not once did i recommend them for any application, but simply stated that I would be trying them on a street bike in the future. A street bike that had extremely low performance rear shocks to begin with.

Pass... On another note, I updated some proven technology... Got me an NOS 30 gig Zune

Zunes ARE rad.
It has FM and the interface is simple... Take it to races and listen to simulcast or music when you want.

I'm thinking about designing an FM receiver for iPhone just to piss off apple and maybe make a few dollars
