That hub is pretty fancy, I've been thinking of something similar for my 850. Nice looking piece!

Yeah, I found myself looking for a 77 GS750 rear hub to do the conversion with, and they are impossible for a decent price. Got to talking to another fella on SOHC4 and lo and behold he is making these. I practically begged him to make me one!!! Can't wait! I wish I could machine parts so bad! Do it Lee!

Many many years ago I machined bearing housings for a living (the factory made electric motors)
They are REAL tight tolerance, depending on bearing size, tolerance on sizes is around 0.003~4mm, (yep, three to four THOUSANDTHS of a millimeter_
That's less than two ten thousandths of an inch 8)
Looks expensive, even done on CNC it's going to take a while.
Been thinking of making some custom hubs so I can use the 32 hole rims I bought a couple of years ago ;)
Front won't be too bad but the rear is going to be an awful lot of machining ::)

Wow Kiley, that stuff is hot. Are these parts going on the second 400f you have or on the one you were riding the Dragon on?

Damn Kiley, I quess this means you are no longer interested in my 77 GS750 that I have for sale! Anyone else interested?

B never talks to us anymore. He was hired by the government and they told him that DTT wasn't cool anymore. Actually, I may still be interested, I just couldn't turn down the opportunity for this hub considering it is specifically designed for my application, and in situations like this I am glad to be a test subject!

The second 400 has kind of morphed into the first 400. I acquired a very nice clean 76 that I will be putting to stock. So the second one I bought is basically a roller right now. Not a lot of mods to be done frame wise, just clean and reinforce welds basically. That allows me to build slowly on the one on the dragon to test fit parts. So far, nothing has been cut from the frame, and it could easily be put right back to stock. Plan is to blast and powder the spare Michigan frame this winter and throw in the 70HP lump that I have been building along with all of the new suspension goodies and the HRC colored bodywork on here. Then I will build this bike back to mostly stock. So far I have 4 of these things total, and 3 spare lumps. I ill buy more too if I find em!!!!!

I love my baby 4's.

Kiley,
That is one trick rear hub. Does it take special spokes with longer ends or all inners? It looks like it's drilled for all teh spokes to go through from outside to inside so the heads are in the recesses. Interesting

I have had the GS since some time in April I think, I got it running after about two weeks of carb work, trial and error carb tunning, and some minor electrical repairs. Runs great! I am just not in need of the bike, I have two old lumps that are still in various states of dis-repair at the moment and I am looking to get myself another modernish sport bike soon.

You know, I'm not sure, I just know that he supplies all of the spokes in stainless steel that are purpose made for this hub. That and its 40 spoke instead of 36. Good thing I already have the alloy to match! It was an accidental buy at barbers a couple of years ago since I thought they were 36, but now I need em!!! Already polished even. The part even comes anodized your choice of color which is awesome. I'm going with clear for the natural look. I am in need of a rear master with integrated reservoir if anyone has any suggestions. Brembo would be nice.

Close eyes, breathe, twist throttle.....that's freedom.

@Kanticoy - I hope you open your eyes again before twisting the throttle...:)

Nothing too special, but I picked up new Progressive fork springs to match the rears I just swapped out, along with new fork seals and some float bowl gaskets for my upcoming tune-up.

Also, I bid on a helmet last week after having a few beers. Apparently I really AM more ballsy when I drink, because I'll rarely wear this thing. I am having it pinstriped tomorrow though...

It does go with my bike perfectly, I guess.

A buddy gave this to me in exchange for some electrical work on his bike.
frame hasn't arrived yet.

I had a rightside Velorex 562 on an '83 XS650 for 15 years, a guy traded me his '96 Sportster with only 12,000 mi. on it in exchange. Kinda miss it, was a lot of fun. You may find some difficulty obtain a passenger for a wrongside car. They don't like being hung out in traffic.

Newest toy for the garage, Millermatic 211 with Spool Gun for aluminum. Now I just need to learn how to make some nice looking welds.

Cool pair of "Biltrite" boots.

Not sure how old, but they look great. I somehow scored them for $15 on EBay.

Needed new riding boots...

Nice! I'd be like 6'6" with those heels tho'

Got my drunken ebay purchase some striping by the guy that did my bike, Jeff Wolf. I love how the stripes cast a shadow on the flake. It's fucking awesome, despite the fact that it offers absolutely no protection for my skull. For the most part I'm an ATGATT kind of guy, but I couldn't resist.
