Post a pic of your latest purchase

Hi,

Just joined the group. Also, just joined the cafe crowd by buying the cafe racer in the link below:

It's from an insurance writeoff. Hopefully, in a few months after a cleanup, she'll look something like this (including the fairing -- that's on order -- but less the racing number plate):

At the moment the bike runs but I need to repair and replace some parts that are damaged.

You can put it back on the road or do you have another non-writeoff frame for it?

[/quote]NP putting back on the road. It has a "None" branding meaning it can be relicensed for the road. There is absolutely no mechanical or electrical damage; strictly cosmetic. AFAIK, the building in which the motorcycle was sitting caught fire, causing the damage. The insurance wrote it off because the cost of replacement parts approached or exceeded the street value of the motorcycle.

Sweet. Did that one come in from eastern Europe by any chance? It looks like a very nice and accurate replica. Clevises are a little different, but that's the only differences I sported so far. They ain't light but the sure look purdy.

Me and my Suzuki 4LS hub bow to the greatness that is that. Awesome hub - one day I'll pull the pin on something like that. Worthy investment.

Teazer, great eye on the clevises! previous owner told me he purchased it from a shop in Hungary, he was doing a restoration project but lost interest. not light at all, weighs about 20lbs, but damn does it look pretty! ;)

Thanks Tim! use to be a disc brake guy, but after seeing the 4LS on your XS, it sold me on drum brakes

Whew....that's a damned fine looking front hub! Who's piece is it?

the hub is a replica from the early TZ250

I could not believe how heavy those brakes are. When I bought one for a TZ250A project, it surprised me, but they do look amazing. I'd really lie one for a TD3 rebuild, but a stock RD disk front end weighs a whole lot less and works better.

It's a beauty all right

Replacing my motorhome below:

This will be my 2 up and sport/touring ride. It came with Givi hardbags, which obviously
aren't in the pictures. I know we will miss the Concours on long trips, but most of our
trips are 2-300 miles, and the ZR is much more manageable for this. We'll just have to make a few more stops on the long ones.

P.S. the motorhome is for sale.

Picked up a Aero Skirt today for my Scorpion helmet. Will help keep my mouth from freezing during my sub-zero rides :) Makes a huge difference.
