Post a pic of your latest purchase

Hah! Yeah mostly dug out of the debris, still a buttload of work to do but as 'they' say......
History is written by the victors......

Well I didn't actually buy them I made them. As some may or may not know I am a very avid cyclist. Well there is this thing in the bike world called Press Fit 30 Bottom Brackets. While it's a great idea the parts available are a Big Pile of Hot Steamy Shit. Tired of BB that creak s and works like a British bike I decided to make my own. These Cafe Fabrications PF30 cups work awesome. I have guys on $20,000.00 bicycles that have BB's that creak and these are now the solution. So if your the poor bastard who has a PF30 BB on your bicycle that creaks buy these.

ZVT... where did you get that from?

It's made I plan on doing a few more then I'm done..probably 5 or 6, this one will be for sale soon DTT classifieds and if it doesnt sell here its off to the ebay..

I wonder what the going rate for these things are?

Look what I got for $10!
Bought 6 tickets (3 for $5) at the lodge for the "Queen of Hearts" game. Each week you buy tickets to get in the drawing, If your called then you get a chance to try to find the queen of hearts card out of 52 envelopes cards pinned on a board. One chance each week and the game keeps going until she is found.
This session has been going on for a long time, only six cards left so the pot was getting big and I'll be damed if they didn't call my name and I found her!

My first house! Right in the little town of Smiths Falls, 3 bdrm, 2 bath, FTW! No garage or workshop as of yet, but I think the back porch with do for now until I build a workshed in the back.

Front and rear porch need some love, and the roof only has a few years left, but she's MINE!!!!

Congrats Pro!

One bit of advice on that roof: figure out now what materials you'll need and budget it early. And plan on new wood, insulation, gutters, fascia, etc until you truly KNOW what needs replaced.

Not so much a purchase (I did buy the 4 by 4's though), but rather something I built the other night:

I store my riding mower in the garage year round, and it is an incredible waste of space when working on bikes. So I built up this workbench to go over top of it. It's freaking huge, but will have shelves built into the sides and a covered desk w/ my old home computer on top. Internet access in the shop!

metric T style Allen wrenches. The holder is silly. it would hang on the wall but all the sizes would be upside down. maybe it is supposed to hang sideways.

Bought a helmet and gloves today - not for me - for my almost-11 year old daughter. She sits comfortably on the pillion pad of the TU250X so time to get her on the road a little bit. Just short runs around the block and stuff - wouldn't dream of taking her out on the highway or anything.

Posted elsewhere on the forum but I'm so pleased with it I want everyone to know!

Skyteam Ace: Picked it up Saturday last, run-in for 160km so far.

Verdict: Build quality better than I expected but the most important discovery has been its handling. If ridden as an old style, underpowered bike should be it is one of the best balanced machines I've come across in years. Classic maximum radius cornering in order to maintain speed gives a great result. Rear suspension is a little harsh but at no time was either end of the bike unsettled by the sometimes bumpy surface. The cheap tyres it comes with look a bit dubious but performed well in the dry.

In short: I'm in love again!

Some minor modifications are on the way.

No pics at the moment, but I just picked up a nice, ruggedly aged, US Navy G2 bomber jacket. It's a Korean War era jacket that I plan to make into a nice Cafe Racer jacket. I have a "Nose Art" style design sketched out that will be painted on the back. I'll also sew on an appropriate assortment of patches. (need to figure out how to age them a bit).

I'll post pics here and/or on my motorcycle blog as I get it together. Right now I am treating the leather to get it properly hydrated.

Shiny Side Up!
