Project "Caroline" CB350four And so it begins!

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

I just caught up on the build bud.... looking good, can't wait to see more.

Cheers!

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

My plan is to build a bike that will look as if it may have been a low numbers factory model or concept. She will retain a rear fender (but shortened), side covers, and the factory paint colors/scheme (but it will all be repainted to look new). I am doing a good bit of polishing aluminum parts, keeping a good bit of chrome, and retaining all of the factory colors except the engine cases/jugs/head will be painted in a graphite charcoal color with polished fin edges
That'll be sweet! Are You plan on staying with a black frame? I been partial to the builds here with the silver ones myself but wonder how that would look with Carolines green... Hmmm mayby not too shaby. Just thinkin

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

Hoosier, I will be going with a black frame again. I had thought of maybe changing the frame color to match the body color (green), but then thought it may not give the factory built effect I was after.

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

Because I am ignorant, I wrapped my genuine yoshi header......and because it was beat up, nasty, and I cant afford a chrome one!

It's still wet from me wrapping it, I just finished it.

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

Brother I am loving the look of those wrapped headers!

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

Where did you get the 4-1? Last time I saw a picture Caroline was sporting some 4-2's.

I have a 350f that I'm looking into exhaust options for.

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

Love the wrapped 4-1...that's going to look great!

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

Nice pile of parts! Cant go wrong with the DCC crew.

Re: Project "Caroline" CB350 Four NEW DCC PARTS and more!

Yesim, that is a genuine Yoshimura race header for a CB400f, but the exhaust ports are the exact same for the CB350f. I picked it up from the swap meet at the Barber's vintage festival back in Oct. It is pretty beat up! I planned on repairing it, but it was so far gone that if I were to fully repair it, it still would not be able to be chromed, which is what I want. I decided not to spend a lot of money to fix it and just wrap it. At current state I have just over $90 in it. I am planning on doing my build and tune with it and then buy a chrome MAC 4 into 1. It’s not that I don’t like the look of the wrapped pipe (because I do) but rather the fact that a chrome exhaust will complete the overall look I am after.
