It's all getting upholstered with brown leather to cover the metal. I plan to use copper or brass rivets around the perimeter. Then a separate pad will go for the seat and back pad using some diamond pattern brown leather...

Sounds badass brother, can't wait to see it.

Kiley, Great to see the progress! Looking forward to seeing it done. I'm trying to make it down for Barber this year as well. I'll stay in touch!

Well, more work today. Finished up the pan, and waiting for the material to ship so I can upholster the pad. But I'm pleased with how it is turning out so far. It took almost 100 solid brass rivets to complete this seat, and they are a pain in the ass. They are a burr style rivet, which means you drill a hole, insert the rivet which looks like a nail, hammer on a lock washer that tightens it down, cut off the excess rivet length, and use a hammer to peen the stem of the rivet against the washer. Do that 100 times and see how tired of it you are!!! hahaha. But here are some pics of the results, and to me they speak for themselves. This is stretched with veg tanned brown leather. The seat pad will be a little surprise.

New tail light mount. I love this because you don't have to unplug and plug in the light every time you remove the seat for maintenance. The old one was bolted to the seat. Still needs blasted and powdered.

And Gretta is now battery-less. Works great. No issues at all, and starts first of second kick.

So I'm pretty pumped. She's getting a re-spray soon too. Bought the paint, hardener and activator yesterday. I'll get pics up as soon as I get em! Hope you kids dig it!

I was gonna post of something funny about viking underwear, but the google images when I searched that were emotionally scarring. I decided it best to leave that out of this thread!

Thanks Mike! Me too buddy, if there's anything I can do to help, lemme know brother. You have a place to crash here if nothing else. I also live 20 minutes from the airport in Birmingham, so I can taxi you if it comes down to that. I know you want to ride, and I want you to also, but I'm just saying. Thanks for the props on the seat man!

No problem, I couldn't be bikeless down there and the cost of a flight is basically the same as what I would spend to ride it. I am working on some things to get the dollars together and I am about 90% I can make it, baring any big bills that hit unsuspecting. Love the seat. The light mount is very cool and functional. My seat on the 450 well seats actually have to be plugged and unplugged when swapped so i know why you did it that way for sure.

It was a bad night... I'll leave it @ that.

Thanks fellas! I love it too. Just so you guys know, I bought a quart of Dark Olive Metallic todo the tins in. Got some tricks up my sleeve. Love the color though.

The many faces of.......Gretta. I'll look forward to what you do with her this go 'round. My phone doesn't show the color well, I'll have to wait til tomorrow....

Joey, I appreciate the compliments brother. Coming from you they mean the world.

Graham, I know man, I'm just overcompensating by decorating my bike in S&M flavors. I'll never be as cool as I think I am...

An Lee, yeah man, I can't leave well enough alone. The colors suck anyway on the shitty camera phone pics. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place with the photos. I have a great DSLR camera, but my options are to put it in the nasty, metal shavings ridden shop, or leave it in my 120* truck. That's why they're always camera phone shots. Lame.

Killer concept brother and well executed. I'm sold ;D ;D .Think I'm gonna love this stage! The colors are going to be sick that's for sure!

Very cool home-boy (ya, Im bringing back "home-boy"). Really different, which is always awesome. Cant wait to see the paint.
