Project Yamaha- CS3 resto.

Last couple of weeks, the old girl has been in at the mechanics getting the low down on what is needed to get her back on the road
Got the front seals redone and new tyres fitted.
and I will pick her up tomorrow and then off this weekend- my first time entering a bike at show. Looking at the 'unrestored' category at this stage ;o)

Had a great time athe bike show, was able to talk to a lot of interesting blokes, and listened to many of there stories. Picked up a few ideas and bits and pieces

Did a bit of work on the bike this weekend.
Fixed up the flasher issue, put in a new flasher unit and in-line fuse so that is all done now.

Next is to fix the battery strap set up.

Swapped out the old tacho cable with a NOS one, got the blinker / flasher unit sorted.
The trip to the mechanic sorted out the fork seals, and they needed a little straightening.
New tyres fitted

and list of things that I need to sort out for the rego.

A question I will throw out to the DTT minds
(I think I know the answer but I will ask it any way)
I have few loose spokes, but tried tightening them with a spoke spanner and they wont budge
Is there any way, short of relacing the wheels, of tightening them up?

Couple of days off, so I thought I would tidy up a few little jobs on the bike.
Been a bit slow, my daily rider needed my attention. Got a new set of tyres and a service, so that took all of my pocket money.

Picked up an old ammo box, so I thought I would try the tips I got on rattle can paint jobs in 1800 help. Also trying out a colour match to my bike for a possible re-spray in the future.

Was happy with the finished paint job, even added a little aussie flavour to it.

Been neglecting the bike for the last few weeks. After sinking in a bit of $$ into it, my daily rider needed some work so the little blue one took a back seat.
Out chasing up some photos for another DTT'er that is fixing up another CS3 and thought I should start her up and let her run.

BUT cannot get her started, worked on her this morning, cleaning the plugs and made sure the fuel was flowing but still no luck. Even tried roll starting it down the driveway still no luck (

It my mood, with a swap meet on tomorrow, threatened to get take her on a one way trip lol

WooooHoooo got the bike going.

A weekend of tinkering, then a set of new plugs, fresh fuel and a fully charged battery saw life breathed back into the bike.

Huge smile, luv the roar of a little 2stroke in the morning

Been way too long since I have ben on here.
Just looking thru some of the pics and posts, has got the itch going - need to get a bit more work done on my little bike.
Just has been too good a weather not to go riding.
