Why did you drill the hole? You just pull the old one out and press a slightly larger one in. A drill doesn't make a round hole, especially when you're not drilling completely through material.
The soldered one hasnt leaked a drop since sunday. I think It may have had some gunk in the drain screw seat.
So now the solder seems to be holding fast along w the drain screw.
