Rude, Crude and Socially Unnacceptable

Well, I managed to turn a well mannered little bike into something that makes children cry as I go by. The last straw was when I picked up a set of CL360 pipes for $20 wrapped and painted them and put on some Emgo shorty mufflers. Damn it's loud! Too loud. I like the look and have it tuned right for the new exhaust. But, it's only a matter of time before I get busted. Any suggestions out there?

That was my first street-bike....well...mine was a CJ360 but just the same.
I swapped on the same pipes though I went with longer megaphone type mufflers, it makes a difference.
Also, you can add a small crossover pipe, either right up at the head or back by the mufflers and you get a couple benefits:
1) both mufflers will be utilized each time a cylinder fires....quieter.
2) a bit better low end without sacrificing the top end.

Ride that thing like you stole it!

good lookin bike, i have the emgo shorties on my 450, they sound great, i left the baffle in them though, just loud enough to piss off the neighbors but still legal :D

I did not take pics when building the seat. But I used a stock seat pan, cut the foam down a few inches, cut the foam off the back, made a template with cardboard of the shape I wanted. Then cut the shape out of aluminum from the hardware store. I used pop rivets to attach it. I had it uhpolstered in marine grade vinyl by a shop locally. I polished it and used door edge trim from Autozone to make the edges clean. I use the stock seat hinge and mounted the tail light turn signals and plate to the seat with one bracket I fabbed. Drilled some holes in the pan to run the wiring. Pretty simple and cost about $80. (20 for material and 60 for uhpolstery)

Here is a pic of the underside of the seat, hope it helps. I also used the same black auto door edge trim on the bottom of the gas tank. And thanks JRK for all the info on appliance epoxy paint. I used it to do the tank.
