Superb build.

Mind if I ask where you ordered your wiring sheathing? Exactly what I am looking for.

Search Amazon.com for Techflex.

Wiring is 99% finished. Still need to wire a couple of connectors on the coils.

Got the gauges mounted as well. Made an aluminum bracket and put some rubber isolation between it and the top triple.

Also, I had to replace the craptacular bulb in the tach with a nice blue LED. For some reason Dime city sells a speedo with an LED backlight but not their Tachs. It's a Cree blue water clear 4200 mcd. Super bright. I used a 560 ohm resistor to limit the current for my 12v system, so as to not blow it out. FYI http://ledcalc.com/

Re: Salzburg '73 CB350 - Update: wiring harness finish, odds and ends

Absolutely beautiful. I love your attention to detail.

Once you get it out on the road I'd love to hear your thoughts on the gauges. I have a set of drag specialty mini gauges I just took off of my 550. I was not pleased with them at all and went back to my stockers.

Wow, it's been too long since my last post. Life got a bit busy for the past two months, but I've still been working on it. Mainly the small details. About a week ago I got the last of my new chrome hardware in from Allensfasteners.com

It was pretty hard to find fine thread chrome (or even stainless) acorn nuts for the top shock mount. I also picked up a bunch of other chrome hardware for the rest of the bike.

I only have to mount the coils, gas tank, fuel hose, carbs, clutch cable, neutral switch, throttle cable... 90% finished 90% to go!

Re: Salzburg '73 CB350 - Update: added chrome hardware - almost finished

Beautiful! Great attention to detail...I love it when I see your thread bumped to the top!

Re: Salzburg '73 CB350 - Update: fuel hose & shift linkage - almost finished

Got the fuel hose and shift linkage installed last night.

I don't know what other people do to secure fuel hose, but I'm using stainless lock wire. It's wrapped twice and tightened until it barely compresses the fuel hose. This is a normal aviation procedure that I'm most familiar with.

Re: Salzburg '73 CB350 - Update: fuel hose & shift linkage - final touches

Made a new license plate bracket and wired up some lights to stay legal. Also got my mirrors, headlight, & horn installed. Just waiting on some new points and I can start her up.

Brake switch and carbs installed by Matthias Salzburg, on Flickr

Hi Matt, two questions? First Ilike the brake switch and how you mounted it. Could you tell me more about it (custom mount? Where you obtained the switch?). And I have been curious about velocity stacks and how much one can filter foriegn material? You said they have screens? Could you tell me more? Thanks, Greg

Have yet to use them, but the quality is very nice. It's got a fine mesh screen for bugs, bread, apples, very small rocks, & ducks. ;D

The switch is mounted using a longer bolt through the lower shock mount on the swing arm and a nyloc nut. Very simple. The included spring & extension wire mount to the pull rod on the rear set through a hole I drilled.

Cool! Thanks, great work!

Motor runs, but I've got a very small pin hole leak on the bottom of my tank. I'm dumping the fuel and will seal it in the next few days. Engine took 6-8 kicks with choke to get it started for the first time. However, once it was primed it started on the next kick. Idles nicely at 1000 rpm. Will have to get it dyno tuned to tweak the carbs. It seems to be missing slightly at 2500 and then clears up. Also it won't take huge throttle inputs down low. My other 350 seemed to take throttle a bit better.
