They slide into the bikes frame and hoop to provide extra strength to the area. If you were to just weld the tube to the bike it would crack and break off.

ohh alright, I was already planning on doing that for the strength. just didnt know the term lol

hey, I have a little cm185 it's 7" od to od frame and the frame tube has a 1" od. can you do smaller bends with smaller pipe?

Have you gotten your die to do 750s? not sure if there is a difference in size between sohc and dohc. I have a dohc, I'll measure it when I get home.
 
I'm in for a dohc CB750 as well. I think I read that you need to add a 1/2" spacer in the middle. This is perfectly fine with me. If I understood correctly it would be $45 shipped right? Paypal money to jbrady2@gmail.com with the details of what I want?
 
can you list the heights of each of the bends?
i saw someone else's drawing said the height of 23 deg 6 inch long upsweep was 2.5...

that would help with planning for how much padding id want on a brat tracker seat
