She may not be the prettiest girl...75 CB360

went out on a shakedown run, stalled once, idles a little too low, and my speedo isn't working (it's an acewell magnet to magnet type, I think I need to adjust the distance).

It is a beautiful thing to get the bike on the road.

Sorry I didn't get any pics.

Well, I guess I am not keeping the stock paint...

Got it completely clean, but didn't get a chance to take a pic. Started filling the badges and a couple of dents. I will post progress pics tomorrow.

Twisted, I am going to start painting this weekend. Thanks again for the Rattle Can Bling thread. I might hit you up if I run into any issues.

I like the color combo, I was thinking about those colors more or less also. Looking forward to see how it will look when done.

Here is my paint booth:

Dude! That is so fucking cool you printed out my *how-to* and stuck it in the paint booth! Makes it totaly worth the time I spent if your paint comes out pleasing to you! I hope it does and feel free to post up in that thread or PM me with any questions, I will help any way I can! Please when your done post a few of your best pics in that thread with a little testamonial, it helps my ego! ;)

Really cool stuff man, I am dying to see some final paint! I am jealous of your paint booth! It rocks! I bet you could rig up a wicked updraft in there!

Wet sanded the primer tonight (sorry no pics). Nice and smooth. Paint tomorrow. I will definitely get pictures of the painting progress.

That is all.

Not the greatest body work, but she is still looking great. 24 coats of paint using Twisted's tried and true method.

Now I need to wet-sand.

Looking great justin! I have to say that the body work could use....well more work, but you seem to be well on track with the paint. You have built a good thick base to sand smooth, and that will make a huge difference in the appearance of the finish! It looks like you are almost to the end of the color stage, right? Keep on track and you will be very happy with the paint, it looks like you are doing pretty good! Remember, when it comes time for clearing, make sure you keep the nozzel directed away from the areas you have covered and towards the dry area. This will reduce the overspray from creating the orange peal effect and make finishing easy and smooth! Good luck, and remember if you have any questions, just ask!

Thanks, Brandon. Yeah, first go at body work, and I am terrible at it. Meh, at least the paint will look good, ha. I suppose it adds character, nothing on the bike is perfect (She may not be the prettiest girl...).

Thanks again for the help, my man.

Body work is a bitch! I am not the best at it, but have been trying at it for a long time! I have found this to be my best method: Apply a hump in the bondo over the dent, leave more filler than you need. When it is almost hard, but not all the way cured, sand it a bit with like 180 grit and just hit it a bit to flaten it out. After it is cured, sand it down with 320 on and orbital or DA sanderusing long sweeping strokes.

Even me using this, I wind up doing the filler about three or for times until I am happy with it!

One good thing about you doing your on rattle-can paint job, after you rock it for a while, you can always re-do it, and it will get better and better every time!

I agree about the dents - they add character. It's like a scar or a tattoo, except for a bike!

I filled in the biggest dents (badly) on my 175 tank since I was in a rush to get it back on. But now I have a 200 tank that I'm taking my time on. Just something to think about!

Got my clutch sorted out. Factory Honda Manual diagram was wrong. See the pics in my 1-800 section.

Here are some various pics of the bike. There are some things need to be repainted, but that will have to come at the end of riding season (except for the seat, I will be painting that this week).

Sorry, they are from my cell phone.

The rear "fender"

Little dirty after sitting at my mechanic, but she'll clean up alright:

So, I put my hi-low/turn signal switches in the headlight clamp holes. My bars no longer have any switches on them:

I don't have the attention to detail that some of the folks here have, but I'd like think I am building an alright little scooter.
