SR500 Project

Haha I think my term for it would be "acceptable" at this point, nice is a bit of an overstatement ;)

Junior does this thing where he does good work but doesn't need attention and I thought he was changing... but it was all so he could use that meme. Hahahahah funny shit.

I was surprised that pic of Sonic was posted, I've I've only heard rumors of his leather fixation... I guess it's true.

You sir are welcome ;)

Made some progress!

Got the tank in primer last night.
Then realized I grabbed the reducer off the shelf instead of the activator. FUCK.
So primer comes off tonight and I'll do it again.
Looks good though 8)

Realized I didn't like the stock headlight, just didn't fit with the look.
Grabbed a Polisport Exura headlight to hold me over until barber, after that I'll rob the light from it and build a nice aluminum fairing/light for it.
I like it more than I thought I would though.
Reminds me of Predator. Maybe that's this bike's name. We will see.

Seat is out at the upholsterer now getting all sewn up with buffalo hide.

Barber is looking possible.

I have to tear it all down and do a bunch of finish welding on the fender, the rear master bracket, etc.
Then it's epoxy paint for the frame and a shit load of powder work for everything else.
Handlebars, levers, master cylinders, carburetor, etc etc etc ugh.

Looks great Justin. It better make it to barber, I am riding a retarded amount of miles to see this and drink your beer ;D

Stock frames are for ninnies.

I'm about to say fuck it and spraybomb the tank as it sits. About 8 hrs in and had to strip it all again.
Fuck paint.

Exactly. Get it coated and ride the fucker. A little wet sanding up to 2000 grit and hand glazing can make it pretty enough for now. You can always do the pro job later.

Ha
I'm struggling getting the damn color down!
Stripped it 3 times so far.
It's going to stick this time or I'll
Just be riding with a cracked paint job

Are you allowed to throw a tank in primer in the oven so it dries faster?
Because I did
